Hello all would you buy a 2007 QP with a total loss title. I saw the pictures of the car at the time of accident. Driver side door impact. No frame damage. Really doesnt look all that bad. The car is full auto with ZF transmission. No service history. Asking 28k would you do it?

The QP is currently already fixed up and looks great.

You can find a few 2007 QP for less than 30k. So 28k is too much for a car with total loss and 0 service history.

    20k maybe...

    I agree Andrew. I just saw a 2008 w/ 7k miles, 1 owner and clean title...$42k.

    car looked as new.

Car in question is a full auto ZF transmission. Really they have gone that low in price?

I actually sent that ad to my wife and then backed off because of the wreck. If it were 25 I'd buy it myself. Call your lender (if you're using one) and see what loan value is though. That might break the deal.

No, generally QPs are not under 30 yet for a full auto 07. You can sure find a duo pre 07 for well under 30 (I've even seen a few at 20), but that's it. These things are all over the board, and I think 30 is a major mental barrier for sellers. Once some more come through that level, you'll see everything drop 10k. Any 07 over 40 is overpriced, IMO. Then again, the coupes hit 20 and bounced back up, so who knows. We all know there's real inflation when you can hardly buy a full size Chevy sedan under 30.

Also, I remember seeing it when it was like 32, and new ad on autotrader says 29,900 firm?

Anyway, how long ago was it wrecked? I see that their ad has the Cats Exotics plate on the back. If it was before Roy Cats had it, you might call him up to see if he recalls that car.

The owner is a little flexible on the price. My thing is even if i pick it up at 25K it will cost me 1K to ship plus it needs tires and i will be getting it serviced. It will cost me 30K out the door. Is it worth for 30K with new tires and fully serviced.

salvage title automatically drops value 50% after repair. I own two. that is the reality. do not consider any oter reason that real value

So if the average asking prices of QP 07 with similar mileage is around 35K you mean to say this one is worth 17.5K and that is not even factoring that it needs tires and no service records

I have also seen another one locally with service records from Ferrari of Atlanta with 54K miles. I may consider that one though.

I just like the color and condition of the one that i posted.

after u spend to put it back on the road it will b worth 17.5. reality. I have an 02 cc spyder with 7,200 miles. I have $14,000 invested. looks new. BUT it is still a salvage car! I have a 2000 Ferrari 550. used value of a non salvage car 50-70. I love it. just spent $26,000 making it look new, including a major. car not worth but maybe $40 max. but I love both so money spent made no difference

Cars get totalled for differemt reasons, some more important than others.

A car that gets totalled with frame damage will never be the same, no matter how good the repair.
A car with severe hail damage can be repaired perfectly, and without further consequence other than value because of the title.

Also, depending on who the owner is, and what else he has insured with a particular company, a car can be totalled that otherwise would not have been with a single-car owner/insurance taker.

Do your homework and ask to see the total repair bills and determine who did the work. Ask.. Inspect the car closely in the claimed damaged areas, pulling a car straight leaves telltales. See if any glued-in glass was replaced, glue on interior bits (nroken plastc clips) etc.

If that QP was wrecked 2 years ago, what was its' value at the time?

With lacking service-history and bald tires it sounds like it was driven into the ground.

    Best,

    Jack.

Ask YOUR insurance company how they handle claims on a car with a salvage title. Most insurance companies, if a car is in anything more than a fender bender, will automatically total the car out again, because of worry about liability, from what caused the car to be originally totaled out. And that's assuming you cause the fender bender,if the other person causes a wreck, then you are at the mercy of their insurance company.Even before they even start dealing with you, they will have run a carfax, and know the history on the car. Value? That's the elephant in the room, there are NO black or blue books, giving values for cars with salvage history, but I would figure at least 30-40 less.

Hmm, I thought the tires only had 10k on them, why needing replacement? Yeah, if you're out the door at 30, walk away. I don't agree with half value, but I'd still stick with 25 out the door needing nothing else. Top $.

which mean i will have to offer 20K for the car. I don't think the seller will bite at 20K

Tires are very expensive. I would tell the seller "Go Fish"
