Maserati GT wheels from the 2002-2008 era (5x108 bolt circle; 8.5F 10.5R) look like they'd fit. These 19"ers are currently on ebay. I thought they looked pretty cool and, except for the rear offset, looked right.

Any comments (or someone with photoshop chops who can weigh in with a set of these superimposed on the side view of a 456M)?

You need a lot of rubber on the back wheels to keep it stable.

Well, the listing says that they're 10.5" in the back; pretty wide.

    Hi

    Bolt pattern is WRONG !!!
The Gran Tourismo has 114,3 mm bolt pattern, and these rims are Gran Tourismo rims.
The last Maserati with 108 mm bolt pattern were the 4200 GT, the 4200 Spyder and also the Gransport.

These wheels were originally for the gran sport. the bolt pattern is 108; that's the first thing I checked for, believe me!

The widths are good, so if the offset is close enough to be fixed with spacers, there should be no problem. Personally, though - and this is JUST the university educated artist in me talking - I have an esthetic problem with those wheels on a 456: They are too far out of the car's era to look right, to my jaundiced eyes. But, that's just me.

    Cheers,

    George

I respect your academic creds. I had aesthetic questions myself, which is why I asked if anyone with photoshop abilities could cobble an image together for me. The 456M is very conservative with simple, graceful lines (no hood scoops, gills or spoiler lips) and any wheels having more than five spokes might not look right (though there are lots of guys who would put CS wheels on their 456s if the widths had been greater in the front and the offsets less in the back). I just found the 550 Maranello wheels to be too plain as an alternative to the already more decorative (though 1" smaller diameter) 456's.

GranSport is not GranTurismo and GranCabrio.
These are different models from different times.

These are the only available original GranSport rims from BBS with bolt pattern 108 mm.

The seller himself wrote GranTurismo/GranCabrio rims. It's the standard rim for the GranTurismo.
These rims have 100% 114,3 mm bolt pattern.

Here is an ebay offer with the correct dates of the rims. (I don't know this person !!!)

At the last 2 photos you can see the part numbers for the color versions grey, mercury and polished, 231475 is the part numbers from the mercury version.

But buy them, so you will have some rims for the living room decoration. Also nice.
    :)
I only wanted to help you not to make a mistake and buy rims only for decoration. Sorry

Thanks, Daniel. You'd think that a company that specializes in wheels and did the reconditioning of these particular ones would POST THE RIGHT *&%$%^ BOLT SIZE WHEN THEY ADVERTISE THEM ON EBAY! :( (and in truth, while I knew that those wheels were made in 5x114.3, I thought it was possible that they might have been manufactured in both bolt circles so that the design could have started in 5x108 and been continued from one model to the next. Guess that wasn't what happened).

There's also a set of gran sport wheels like the ones you linked to available on ebay, but at roughly twice the price and they are 1/2" narrower and more offset than the 456 spec.

If we could see, how many faults "specialized companys" make every day, we would be shocked.

The rim from your first post came with the new model GranTurismo. This design wasn't available at the earlier Coupe/Cabrio models.
The 4200 GT and Cabrio had 18 inch rims in different designs, only the modified GranSport (Coupe and Cabrio) had the BBS 19 inch in only one design (the design from your last post).

Then the new model GranTurismo came with 3 different rim design in 19 inch and 20 inch.

I don't understand the change from 108 mm to 114,3 mm from the complete Ferrari and Maserati family (Quattroporte, GranTurismo, 612, 599, California, ..).
I think they have done this change, that we are not able to mount new rim designs and sizes on older car models. ;)

Yes, a shame, since I really like the 612 modular wheels:

These are brand new, and look at the price! Less than 2.000 euro.
