Massa still doesn't suck!!!! Kickin some ass of late... Outdoing Zo almighty as well... Keep going Felipe...
I for one do not believe that Massa "sudenly" re-learned the art of fast driving....or "suddenly" got over the trauma from the accident. I do believe it is very possible that he was driving "inferior" cars to FA...and now, at least during the past few races..he was "released" from testing mods..... I for one believe Felipe is a faster driver than FA is.....slightly faster....but faster nevertheless. Given the exact same car...exact same conditions, and same track....and unleached at the same time...side by side...on a typical track.....for 20 laps....I think Massa has a 65% chance of arriving ahead of FA.....in the dry......and a 80% of arriving ahead of FA in the wet. I would bet money on Massa on this Little race. Cheers.
I've said it before-the wdc is a marathon, not a sprint, and because Felipe has run the last few miles quickly it doesn't mean that he's a faster driver over the course of the season; he's not. It's been 4 YEARS since he has won a gp. Brazil is his home race, he should fare well here.
well, it's easy to just say. Or comment. Truth is, no one knows what really is happening backstage at the Scuderia. I too find it odd how Massa can suddenly, out of the blue, is faster than Alonso.
That's a very interesting idea that I hadn't considered before (not read the rest of this thread so apologies if already discussed!) I had been under the assumption that Fernando was getting the better parts/upgrades but with the restricted testing in F1 at the moment is it possible that Phil's car has been a test mule for much of the season? Is there anything to back this idea up?
I like the thinking out of the box,... but the problem I have with that theory is if the mods were "good" mods,... shouldn't Massa have been good? The car has improved throughout the season... The mods were an improvement over the base car... Mass should have had the better car in this situation.
Massa is still far from redemption, IMO. Don't forget that he sucked again in Abu Dahbi, just a few weeks ago.
It's cute that you even bother to respond. Any post that claims Massa to be faster than Alonso on more than an occasional basis has lost its credibility at the beginning of the sentence.
Factually the car has not improved and there was a stint of 6-7 races where the car did not change at all. Mclaren and Red Bull have improved greatly over Ferrari. FA was 39sec behind them in Austin alone. It really matter not what Massa had done with the car he was re-signed anyway. Talk to the team about that and the in-ability for the car to actually be on the front row at all.
Hopefully Vettle catches a wing to his left rear on turn 1 tomorrow..... Good job to Lewis as well... bet he is kickin himself in the arse for jumpin ship to POS Benz... He will have a rude awakening next year... The grass is rarely greener.
This is brazil, which is Felipe's home race. He even won in the wet 4 years ago for his last gp win. He's always fared well here.
I think I could beat Massa in the wet. Well, maybe if he was upset about something and it was wet....
All those claims about Massa in the wet go back to that one race where Massa spent the entire race on the wrong tires, testing them out so Schumi would know when to change between inters and full wets. Nobody seems to remember the Euro GP in Germany where Massa in the Ferrari out-paced Alonso in the Renault in very wet conditions (while Ham got a crane ride).
Massa told the Italian press, "if they tell me my gear box is broken I will race with with it broken"
Not sure what suddenly happened to Massa..... But I kinda like it. Now he just have to prove it for a full season next year.
So he's saying something like, "Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing."? One of the Speed TV team was saying, on their review show, that Kimi reminded him of James Hunt.
Yes because he kept his engine running a smart move Silverstone in the rain sticks in my mind [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLGnFTl_6_I[/ame]
