    Q. Considering what happened to Lewis Hamilton, was it quite a good day for you?

Felipe Massa: To be honest, it could have been better but it could have been much worse. At the end of the day it was a positive qualifying for me, for us, even looking at the championship situation. Let's hope we can do a solid, consistent race tomorrow - thinking of the points but also thinking of trying to gain position if we can. The race will be quite difficult but let's try and do the best we can.

    Q. What did you miss to be a little bit higher?

FM: I missed doing a great lap, but it was so difficult in those conditions to do a perfect lap. There was a lot of aquaplaning, a lot of traffic. The visibility was very low, so it was quite difficult. But anyway, at the end of the day we did a good job and we managed to do all three qualifying sessions. Finishing sixth is not really great, especially for or team, but with those conditions it was a very good qualifying.

    Q. Wet or dry, what do you prefer tomorrow?

FM: Looking at the conditions, I think dry. Dry will be much more consistent. I think we have a good car and hopefully a good strategy to fight or gain position.

    Q. Looking at the way the first chicane is laid out, what will your thought be going into that?

FM: Just try to do a good start. I want to defend myself but also I want to be cautious in the first corner because we know many things that can happen there. Hopefully we are not involved in any kind of accident or difficult moment – just try to think about the whole race.

    Q. You did a great job in Q2 to improve your time in the late phase of that session when conditions were getting worse. Can you talk a little about that lap, and do you think it saved your day?

FM: For sure I think Q2 was the most critical point in qualifying. And looking at the track, it was reasonably okay in the beginning but then there was coming a lot of water and it was getting worse and worse. I think I was maybe the only one to improve the time and to get the time in the very late phase.

I was very lucky in a way because afterwards it was even worse the track. I did a very good lap, I was pushing hard and I was trying to put all the efforts to get the right direction without aquaplaning and trying to pass to Q3. So it was quite good.

    Q. Judging by where Lewis and Kimi Raikkonen are on the grid, what is your approach to the racing considering you are in a championship fight?

FM: Well, we know that the race is long. The race is quite long and many things can happen, but it is always better to start in a good position. It is not fantastic but it is a good position looking at the circumstances. I am looking forward to having a solid race tomorrow, trying to gain position, trying to have a very good strategy and hopefully we can finish in a great position.

That is my mentality. What happens at the back I don't know, we just need to look forward to try and do the best we can because the race will be very difficult as well.

    Q. Thinking about the fact that all your main title rivals are behind you, is this sixth place is a sort of pole position for the race? Or are you afraid something could happen because there are five cars in front of you?

FM: It is not pole position! We still have five cars in front, and five cars that will fight between them – for sure a lot. We need to be intelligent and clever with everything we are doing.
