Felipe Massa completed six hours of running in Ferrari's simulator in Modena yesterday as he continued his recovery programme in preparation for returning to Formula 1.

The Brazilian is working with the team all week in readiness for his first test since sustaining serious head injuries in a crash in Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying at the end of July. Massa is scheduled to test a 2007 Ferrari F1 car fitted with GP2 tyres sometime after this week.

He was satisfied with his progress after the simulator session.

"We worked very well, without any problems," said Massa. "The simulator uses an A1GP single-seater, so it's not exactly like Formula 1, but pretty close. I drove on the track in Barcelona to avoid creating an even bigger test atmosphere."

While at the factory, Massa also took time to answer emails and messages of support from fans. He will resume running in the simulator today.

I wish him all the best, and if he's 100%, then it'll be great to see him in Abu Dhabi. He has a thing for new circuits, who knows he might win! :D

Frank Williams has been in support of Felipe's testing and in fact he's commented "I hope that the test proves a successful step in his rehabilitation."

Interesting as Frank has opposed so many things including MS testing as a possible return.

Could Frank be looking towards Ferrari engines for his car?

I doubt it. He's in too deep to FIA/Max. I'd expect to see the "agenda" Cossies in the Williams, next year.

Frank was opposed to MS testing the F60. He wasn't opposed to MS when he tested the F2007 just as Massa will do with GP2 tires no less. Frank was also the first to voice opposition to a 3rd Ferrari next year.

I doubt he'll be getting a Christmas card much less an engine deal from LdM.

I think Williams would be better off with Renault power.
