What other gimmick can they possibly think of to make Formula E interesting?

Nothing can make formula E exciting. The lack of noise is offputting, and seeingbthose that can’t hack f1 anymore drive milk floats around?, they should retire and keep their dignity

Forza Ferrari..... the only racing team and car marque that matters. Italia forever It’s easier to apologise than it is to ask permission

The only thing that can save the internal combustion engine is a giant EMP bomb.

There will ALWAYS be a portion of the men of influence who will be petrol heads and the combustion engine will still exist.

God I hope so. A few weeks ago I took a drive in an F12, and there is a tunnel just after which is a cafe popular with cyclists, proper Lycra ninja types...... I spent a good half an hour nailing it in second through that tunnel and blasting out the other side, anchors on, spin it around tyres spinning, then back through loud as I could...... the nutcases hated it, some of the names they shouted at me, the air was blue (and black from the tyre smoke drifting into their sandwiches!). Eventually the cops would’ve arrived, so we did a great full throttle blast through the tunnel, past them with windows down, appropriate signals of health and happiness tendered, and off..... I love test drives!

Exactly. And To think of all the petroleum required to pull off that stunt...boats, helos, etc.

The technology is interesting to me, but the racing is subpar and the farcical environmentalism sours me further.

Sounds like my kind of drive! I used to do that in one of my 930s. Loud as hell, and shoots big flames from exhaust on the upshift.

    Awesome!

I just don’t see the point in not enjoying what our cars will do.. I think the trouble with electric is that it’s a bit like the starship enterprise, fantastic tech, silent running, maximum efficiency, but zero appeal regardless of the numbers it produces. I want to see, feel and hear my cars and what they are doing, where a wheel is slipping, etc. The noises are a big part of the event, the speed and acceleration are the product of the event. Look at older Ferrari’s, none of us would be any less passionate about a spirited drive in a 308, 348 or 360 than one in the Pista or 812. The actual ultimate speed isn’t really the biggest part of it, it’s the way a Ferrari looks sounds and feels as it gets you up to bigger speeds and handles its way sinuously around corners and throws you down the straights
