I was wondering if anyone has had a master cylinder and/or booster rebuild lately. What's the going rate? My pedal sinks under gental pressure and my brakes are horrible. I just ordered stainless lines and new pads, but am planning on getting everything done the first of next week.

i would try bleeding the system first. then for parts look in the cross ref thread and write down the part numbers and call T Rutlands or GT Car Parts. did you not do a PPI and get the car cheap? or have these things poped up on you after the fact? front brakes are porsche 911, rear are porsche 914 on the 308s. front pads are quick change and easy to do.

If you do get your MC rebuilt, Karps Brakes in Cali (I think) does a great job. I pulled my master cylinder and booster as one unit (it is not suggested that you take then apart) and then had them rebuild the booster and re-line the MC with a stainless liner, for $150 or so bucks, plus the turn time was pretty quick. At least that's what I think I paid. It's been a while.

Thats about the prices I've been hearing...i just ordered stainless steel brake lines as well. It's going in on Tuesday and they are going to go over the whole system just to be safe.
