glad the weather is clear now. finishing up 3rd round pretty interesting Koepka vs. Rahm (LIV vs. PGA) and Hovland making a run.
OK, early in the 4th round here are the LIV players... 1 - Brooks Koepka T9 - Joaquin Niemann T9 - Patrick Reed T18 - Phil Mickelson T34 - Cameron Smith T34 - Abraham Ancer T39 - Harold Varner III T39 - Talor Gooch T39 - Thomas Pieters T46 - Charl Schwartzel T48 - Dustin Johnson T48 - Mito Pereira CUT - Jason Kokrak CUT - Sergio Garcia CUT - Bryson DeChambeau CUT - Bubba Watson WD - Kevin Na WD - Louis Oosthuizen
That was predicted on Friday by everyone that saw him walking, no surprise at all. The problem with the list is most of the people on it are either a) old or b) never have done that well at Augusta. Several are on their 'downward swing' of golf (pun intended). The only ones on the list I would have expected to 'do well', ie Top-10 would have been: Koepka Na Cameron Smith Dustin Johnson Nobody else on the list I would expect to do well, even Patrick Reed is fairly overrated. Look at Rory McIlroy - no, not a LIV guy, but he's been very hot lately, but Augusta does not suit his game at all, and it showed.
they're showing you AND everyone at PGA and Golf Channel. 2. Mickelson T3. Koepka T6. Reed I still think there is a valid theory that the LIV golfers with a light schedule and no other World points will play better at the Majors.
I was there yesterday and it was miserable. Last year there on Sunday and it was perfect. You win some you lose some I guess. Still a great experience. My favorite by far other than the Ryder Cup. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
You weren't allowed to come back today for finish of 3rd round? I have never been, but want to go. Any suggestions on tickets? Just get the grounds or try to get reserved seat or maybe even the VIP for Berckman's? Thanks. Anyone ever been to Berckman's?
Mickelson was a surprise, Koepka was not, and Reed..... you can never figure this guy out. One of the reasons Phil did so well may be because he golfs 54 instead of 72?, and they have not even half as many tourneys to go to, not that he has attended 'most' of the annual PGA events over the last 6-8 years. I will say he looked physically a LOT better than he has the last few years. Rahm was my choice from the git-go, but I am really surprised Koepka lost a 6 stroke lead.
90% of the hate was this, that they were only playing 54, but that along with less tournaments and that they don't care about golf anymore turned out false. I love it! I'm not sure if LIV is paying for any more players right now, but this might push some more over if they are.
I think some people complain just for the sake of complaining. They whine about 'Saudi atrocities against women and mankind' as they fill up their $100,000 Mercedes with gas derived from Saudi oil..... But that's a different topic.
The other thing they don't dare mention is the LIV Tour has FORCED the PGA to pay better. Anyone in the PGA owes the LIV guys A LOT for 'taking a bullet' for them, to increase THIER payouts better. I also think since we see a plethora of NBA players ''taking a night off' these days, we will see more 'name' PGA guys missing just a few more tournaments every year. I'm kinda mixed on that, but it gives others a chance to make a field that maybe normally would not.

So what happens with that - he can’t get paid ? Another question was the provisional ball on the 18th - did he get a stroke penalty on that ? MDS
He’ll get endorsements like no other from his college playing now. He carried himself well this weekend. He’s set as long as he doesn’t pull a manziel.
An amateur can’t win money or he loses his amateur status. Rahm’s ball must have hit a tree and it landed just short of the fairway. There is no penalty for hitting a provisional it would only have been Used if he couldn’t find his original drive. In that case he would have been hitting 4 instead of 2.
Exactly, maybe it will keep him in college a little more. Not just football getting NIL deals, there are some runners lately who have gotten 6-digit deals.
