The whole NIL deal is going to come crumbling down one of these days. You get a QB that gets 5 million bucks, and his offensive line is going to say 'hey - wait a minute...', and they will get paid or that QB may get hammered a few times. It bothers me that we now see basketball players switching teams every season, Creighton's best player just entered the transfer portal - nobody was expecting that. Now, just to be clear, I thought the constant transferring sucked BEFORE Nembhard decided to test the waters - there was a guy in the 'Dance' that was on his 5th team, that's just ridiculous - and there were a handful that were on their 4th team... Personally, I think you should only be allowed to transfer if the coach that recruited you leaves, or if your school switches conferences... or with one other exception - to transfer to a school MUCH closer to your home so your parents and family can see you play more often, say within 250 miles. Coaches getting 10 million a year, yeah, that's just stupid, too.
I'm trying to figure out the LIV's purpose, their end game? It isn't to attract advertisers (make money), as they are not on a major network, and if they were, the sheeples would all have a tizzyfit and not know what to do...
That was a great tourney. Really impressed by the amateur kid who finished out at 2 under. Nice win for Rahm too. Surprised Mickelson made a little push at the end there.
It isn’t logical to most people or any businessman. They have put a ridiculous amount of money into it so far, but it is nothing for them. They could continue it for 100 years and it wouldn’t even put a chip in their sovereignty. 60 minutes after the Masters last night had a good segment on the Sports Washing. Not sure if a repeat.
88 invitees, 18 from LIV. 10 LIV players made the cut at top 50 and ties. Three LIV players, Brooks, Phil and another guy made the top 10.
He's a fifth year senior so I imagine he will be graduating soon. Hopefully he will get a shot at the tour soon considering how well he played. He did start to lose his cool a little on the final back nine so still some maturing to do I think. Overall he had a great performance.
He was warned for slow play too, but not dinged a stroke. All kinds of stories about Cantlay playing slower than molasses, and that's part of what caused Koepka to collapse, but oddly, not Rahm, who was with Koepka..... Apparently Cantlay is known for being the slowest guy around.
