they try to make that argument, but I think the other side can say they aren't as worn down. Instead of playing practice rounds, pro am, and 4 tournament rounds they might have 1 practice, 1 pro am, and 54 holes. The rest of the time could be used for rest and practice. my brother was a regional pro and he played 36 holes a day, most days. they had carts, but it wouldn't have made any difference to him 54 or 72.
Koepka was doomed the moment I put money on him. The LIV players had good representation in The Masters, despite having mostly played 54 holes at resort courses in their shorts. I can't forget the scene at Koepka's first LIV tourney, where he rode in a golf cart to the first tee with his girlfriend sitting on his lap. Now THAT's focus.
I think that Tiger should retire from the main PGA tour and wait until he turns 50, when he can join the Champions tour, where he can use a golf cart and (I believe) they have cut their tournaments to 54 holes.
He's in an interesting spot. His body isn't even good as half the Seniors. His mind thinks he's 20. His sponsors and fans think he's 30. I wouldn't be that surprised for him never to play a Seniors tournament. I could see him playing about 8-10 tournies a year for the next 20 years including the majors. His health issues will always be described optimistically that he's getting better or his latest surgery will fix things, but several years down the road will factually show he never was better. After Tigers Masters win 2019 I made the easiest bet ever, fishing acquaintance bet me $1,000 that Tiger would break Jack's Majors record still.
I agree. I just don't see Tiger teeing it up on the Senior tour. At some point (if not already) tournament play will just be a distraction for him with all of his other ventures.
