    Anybody there or going?

I can't wait for coverage to start.

I hear it's dry there, should be an interesting show. Guys hitting three irons into greens they've been hitting 7 and 8 irons into previously.

    I like the changes.

Man, I wish I was going.

My swing coach left Monday, he works for Haney and he has a couple of guys he works with, and of course Hank is there with Tiger.

One of my life's ambitions is to see a Thursday or Friday round at the Masters so that I can see everybody. Including the old guys that are a part of the history of the Masters. I will get there as soon as the gates open, spend as much time on the range as I can, then pick a group to walk the front 9 with. Eat a bite of lunch and pick a new group to follow for the back 9. Possibly back to the range after the round to see who is still working, then stand there watching the sun set on the greatest place on earth, until they run me off.

    AHHHHHHHH.......Heaven

I also want to see a U.S.Open, and play a round at St. Andrews before I leave this mortal coil. Preferably, before I get so old I can't bust an egg.

I think it's arguably the most prestigious event in sports. I like how they have held on to tradition as much as possible.

I went to the Masters two years ago and my father played the course last year. Augusta National is just an absolutely incredible experience. When you walk in you almost get the feeling that you are in a holy place. It's hard to describe, but anyone who loves golf and has been to the course might know what I mean.

Augusta National is a very special place, and you feel that when you enter the gates. Strict security getting in, but once you are there, they treat you like a king. The course is manicured like no course you have ever seen. Really very little rough, which is cut like a second cut, the trouble is the greens, and trying to hold a ball on your approach shot. Once there, they roll like your wood floors, and there are special breaks only the seasoned vet knows. The food is the cheapest in sports, with the famous Pimento cheese sandwiches going for $1.50, and beers for $3. Bought lunch for 9 for $48. The merchandise is cheaper than your US Opens by a large margin, so most "Patrons" come away wowed by the whole experience.
I have been to the tournament, and the practice rounds, and tuesday and wednesday are my favorite days to get up close to the pro's. You can bring your camera those days, and the players are much more laid back. On wednesday at 1:00 there is a par 3 tournament, on a 9 hole course just behind the Butler cabin. They have their kids caddying, since they only carry 3-4 clubs, and it is a blast. Fuzzy and Daly alway put on a show, throwing barbs back and forth. You can buy practice round tickets from scalpers for $300- $350, which I think is still a bargain for what you see. You can also go on Masters.org and find out how to sign up for the practice round lottery each year. I know a lot of friends who have gotten picked, and then the tickets are only $30 each day. Here are a few of the 400+ pics I took.

Just spent Thursday / Friday there. Awesome - my second time there.. Those pics must be from practice rounds - they dont let you takae cameras in or cell phones etc. during the tournament.. Vijay had 3 doubles today. Fredie would be leading if he could putt, missed short birdie putts coming down the strecth.

Tiger is starting to wake up. Its going to be a great weekend. Will be watching the weekend action on TV back in LA. The greens are scary fast. I saw Tiger 3 putt 13 yesterday - no way to stop that one. The amateur he was playing with puttted into the water. I also saw Tiger put one in the water on 15 - but he was in a divot - super unlucky for day 1. Food etc. is very cheap - beer is $1.50, tuna sandwich $1.50 etc. Course is the best.

    Cheers.
