One thing is to get a pic of the engine family marking and engine SN marking on the top of the block at cylinder #1 (near the water pump). I believe the engine family should be F106A, and maybe some other '77 US Owners can compare their engine SN to see if it's in the same ballpark for date of manufacture (although this is not an exact thing).
The 1-4 camcover looks correct for a '77 US version, but the airbox looks more '78-'79 US than '77 US. 95% of the US emission stuff is missing. I believe those are the 16" reproduction KN wheels (not stock QV) -- not a bad thing, but not as good as the stock QV 16". Very nice looking with those euro bumpers, but "Bs" are just beautiful regardless ;)...

That last "big" major in 2014 is a big plus. Vinny at Auto Elite in NJ is one of the best FCar mechanics in the US (I've been down there a few times, never had personal work done, just word of mouth testimony from happy customers).

If you kindly asked Marcel, he may be able to help you via PM. He recently confirmed the original engine number (is correct) for my GT4.

    That car is BEAUTIFUL!
If I didn’t have a 328 I would be very interested in that car!
    Good luck to you.

You really "can't" as the engines came in "Batches" of 20 or so, sat palletized in Final Assembly, and then were dropped into cars on the line.

As stated they can confirm "about right" or if Marcel has the (very rare by 1977) Build Sheet that would nail it.

I can go look at mine, but guess what?
It blew under warranty and got "another new 1977 engine" sent to Canada!

So it's only "about right!" LOL!

Maybe I dreamed this....but I can't check right now because my car is else where getting some work done, but I seem to recall, that in addition to the car SN being stamped on the frame near the right rear shock mount, that the engine number was also stamped there by the SN. In my case, the car SN was 25521,and the motor number was 00537.
