Matte black is rapidly becoming popular on cars. I believe the SLR has a sticker of some sort for the matte black paint appearance.
How big is the gas tank in this thing?

Carbed LM's carried about 75 gallons and injected are about 45.

That one is injected so it has the smaller outside tank.

yes the SLR with the purple wheels. really ugly. true story - when hes bored at 3am, he puts a magnetic Batman logo on the hood of the SLR, dresses up as Batman, has his best friend dress up as Robin, and they drive around LA. sooooo weird. I hear he ordered a Matte Black Veyron from the factory. He has a pretty insane car collection - bare metal original AC Cobra, 900whp Buick GNS, Matte Black SLR, etc.

How can you tell from that picture that it's injected...?

I drove an LM-002 once. You really have to be passionate about that car to enjoy it. The clutch and gearbox are like what you'd find in a truck (D'oh! I know it's a truck), it doesn't go very fast and it has the performance characteristics of a row boat. Of course that would be the case - since it's a big truck! But, still, it's not like an H2 or a Range Rover. It's a big unwieldy beast of a thing.

It's my understanding that a majority of LM-002 production went to the middle east so that Princes could drive them around in the desert. Can anyone confirm this...?

IIRC, it was an attempt to break into the military market.

What do you mean by that? Your talking about fuel injection correct? I thought they were all fuel injected?

Thats correct the first prototype was named Cheetah. This was built to go against the Humvee for a military vehicle and we all know the outcome of that. Supposedly the defense department took that prototype to Death Valley and put it through its paces. There is a grainy picture of the prototype with rocket launchers on it. Once they were done with it it was left in the desert and later turned into scrap.

    That was a good read.
He says he wants to cure cancer before he dies.

    Anyways...
The Batman thing is pretty funny, but he looks a little too old to be running around in tights with his best friend dressed up as robin. Some people do weird things.

I'd love to see that Matte Black Veyron around BH or Bel Air sometime...that's going to be the star of the show! Any details on when his car is coming? Or if he even ordered the car in the first place? (Could be a rumor for all i know)

    Back to the main topic.
A 75 Gallon tank?! That's huge. But too bad it gets like >8 miles to the gallon! This should be the car that replaces the Hummer in the military, that thing seriously looks like the car people would mount a gun on and shoot like hell! Especially in that Matte Black paint!

Bo, please remove yourself from Ferrari chat and go to the Prius forums. You are in the way of us real ferrari owners. Also, don't be late with my rent. I have a Testarossa that needs service- this is not cheap! Also I might need a ride from SF to La
