Has anyone taken delivery of a matte finish Speciale with stripes? Are the stripes also matte finish? are they raised where you can feel them due to the lack of clear coat? My understanding is they are a decal applied over the paint but under the clear coat, so I am curious how they will look and feel on a matte finish car.
Have you spoken with your dealer about this? They are not decals, and on a gloss car, they are applied with the base paint, and the clear is sprayed on top - I take it, they'll do something similar on a matte car. When I felt them, I don't recall feeling any "bumps". As for whether they are matte or high gloss, I'd think that depends on what you order.
Thanks for reply, if they are not decals and are actually paint then I assume the factory would just do the stripe color in matte. Deciding between argento nurburgring opaco and normal finish. Have been told several different answers on the stripes (paint vs decal) and didn't want different finishes on the final car.
They are painted on and under the clear coat. I went through this when I was spec'ing my car. No stickers involved. MJ
I have a matte grigio opaco Speciale that is currently in production stage 40. IN answer to your question, if you spec a matte color then the stripes must also be matte. I asked Ferrari specifically about this, so I'm 100% certain that this is the case.
