    The 1/18 F60 from Mattel has hit the major model retailers. No comments on the quality just posting for those who might like to know.

    I'm gonna bet its better then the last two cars since its going to lack so many pieces the last few years have had. I saw a few on ebay last week, and they didn't look bad to me.

    What a miss for Mattel/Hotwheels AGAIN !!!,

    First, you think it looks like a better model with the right antenna's and colour ... but when you have it in your hands and you look at some pictures of the real car.... you start to cry
    The red coulour of the car must be the same as on the cheeks of the people of Mattel... red of SHAME !

    Some things a had to change, because they were absent or completely wrong ;

    -no exhausts present..only 2 holes ! so i made 2 exhausts
    -the black underbody is too low. (it must gradually move upwarts to the underside of the nosecone) so there we go with some paint and a tiny brush
    -the steeringwheel is rubbish !!! only a decal on a flat piece of plastic !! so i mad a new decal with the real knobs on it
    -the silver/black lining on the frontwings is absent ! (in 2007 and 2008) ferrari had it also and mattel too...now they don't..) so there we go again with the brush
    -the helmet of Massa doesn't resemble the real thing.. but this is very difficult ot change to the right one.
    -the tires look like Bburago balloon-tires of the early 80's; so with some grindingpaper the shiny looks taken away.

    Furthermore i have modified the single diffuser (which mattel made almost the right way) to the double diffuser from the rest of the season, it was a risk because i had to deform the groundfloor in the rear ... but it is to my satisfaction.
    Also I have modified the rearwing to the wing used in Turkey (and from that race on).
    I had to watch out because Massa wasn't driving form Hungary on, so the latest modifications on the car i could not perform because massa wasn't driving then.

    Here some pictures (sorry for some blurry one's, cheap camera)

    I didn't know it was that off from the real thing. Very cool that you could fix it, and nice work!
