I can't for the life of me, think of which of the manufacturers would want to dig up this kind of information!! I wonder how much they are paying for this information....on top of the $100 M already paid!

Sorry sir but you are incorrect. While England does give a great deal of latitude for free speech it is not guaranteed as it is here in America. Here is the short story. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship_in_the_United_Kingdom

If you wish I could dredge up the heavy stuff. Simply do a Google search and you'll find many censored forms of speech in England.

Oh no...that could not be true...that is too logical for this board....I am quite sure that this is the fault of Ferrari, or Nigel Stepney, or Luca de Montezemolo, or Jean or Nickolas Todt, or Filipe Massa (cause he is not qualified to drive a taxi cab) or the Kimster. Hmmmm, maybe the white powder in the Ferrari fuel tanks last year was really Nazi de-lousing powder. The mysterious 98 page dossier was really a list of girls willing to dress up an guards and give Max a whack on the arse. It was given to Mike Coughlin; he wanted to dress up as Goebbels, but Max wouldn't let him since mommy Mitford had been married in Goebbels’s Library under the watchful eye of Uncle Adolf. Charlie Whiting checked the hight of the pommel horse Max was strapped across, but BWM and Honda took their hight measuments from a different location, so there was a protest from McLaren. There was also some question about Max's "flexible undercarriage" early in the whipping session, but that was resolved by a rules clarification and the fact that he "stiffened it up".

Oh, boy....someone had better secure the movie rights for this one.....ooops, just checked and Bernie already did!

Poor Max. He most likely is going to have to change careers late in life. Might I suggest porno flicks? I'm sure with some editing the 5 hour film could be reduced to a couple of hours in which our tea-sipping, scrawny hero keeps a stiff upper lip and then some. There could be prequels and sequels:

--Spanky and the Pirates: in which Spanky falls into the clutches of five pirate chicks outfitted in black skull and crossbones threads, walks the plank, and is keelhauled before getting even. Thar she blows!

--Spanky and the Hell's Angels: in which Spanky gets it on with five biker chicks in Nazi regalia and learns what the biyotch seat is.

--Spanky in Baghdad: in which our intrepid hero finds himself in the clutches of five Pennsylvania National Guard military police chicks with no training but with attitude, German shepherds, combat boots, and polaroids.

--Spanky in Valhalla: in which Spanky and a bevy of Valkyries make whoopie on horseback during the twilight of the sods (Sotterdammerung).

--Spanky and the Spartans: in which our priapic hero takes on horny Spartan wives while the 300 are facing Xerxes at Thermopylae.

--Spanky in Imperial Rome: in which Spanky discovers the Vestal Virgins aren't, and during which gladiator role-playing occurs.

--Spanky and the Vikings, Spanky and the Teutonic Knights, Spanky and the Crusades, Spanky in Appalachia: There is no limit to my creativity and poor taste. . . .

Perhaps I should have been a little more careful in my post.

In the UK we have the right to free speech, unless in exercising that right some specific law is broken - but that isn't very likely to be the case these days. The Wikipedia material virtually all refers to laws that were long ago scrapped or have become obsolete. Examples of exceptions to the right to free speech might be in situations related to national security or to making or publishing racist remarks or comments. You seem to imply that in America you have absolute freedom to say anything on any subject, I'd be surprised, and rather disappointed, if that is the case.

The press here can, and often do, print pretty much what they like about anyone. If they print something that isn't true they can, of course, be sued for libel, but that doesn't seem to deter them.

Mosley was exercising his right to do what he liked in private, the press exercised its right to report it. I'll repeat my prediction that the affair will not result in any successful legal action.

See, that's just it. There are men who do lead more dignified lives- not given over to such ridiculas, pathetic foolishnes, who are as qualified to do his job, if not more qualified in some cases- who are not going to want to take orders from Mosley now. His authority and respect is gone. Now he is just a silly old fool. Whether or not it is illegal, or if there are three nincompoops out there who think it's cool is irrelevant to the bigger issue. Billions and Billions of dollars are at stake. This ain't no child's play. His presence will undermine the sport every day he remains at this point. And Mosley, now has become a big pain in the ass to Formula One. and yes, I was trying to do a pun just then.

So far you guys have shown an amazing amount of restraint at cracking dirty jokes when the subject just lent itself so easily to that. Please continue to keep it rated PG and use proper language.

    Thanks' all.

I agree, and also found it interesting that he is suing the paper for breach of privacy, not libel, slander, or whatever it is when a story is totally made up.

Apparently the only aspect of the story that Max has specifically denied is the Nazi connection.

They covered this a little bit on PTI on ESPN. An F1 story on ESPN, I must be dreaming.

I went to school and had the history lessons, but like most people nowadays we are a fair bit distanced from what happened and thus unable to fully understand the feelings, all we can do is empathise.

People nowadays are also well and truly used to people having weird sex, and really won't necessarily see dressing up as a nazi as making fun at the atrocities. More likely they will simply think Max is pretty damn kinky.

What MS did though was piss off the people that understand the sport, its true supporters ... I forgave everything MS did before this move, but I couldn't this one. My respect for MS dropped considerably and thus IMO he did massive harm to the "sporting" side of F1. I have issues with F1 because the sporting side constantly takes a back seat ... a real pity.

From a statement by Mosley reported on the BBC sports site:

"I shall now devote some time to those responsible for putting this into the public domain but, above all, I need to repair the damage to my immediate family who are the innocent and unsuspecting victims of this deliberate and calculated personal attack."

Read that again, he says his family are the victims of a ""deliberate and calculated personal attack." He is taking NO RESPONSIBILITY. His family is a victim of an "attack" by others. He has nothing to do with it. He is the "victim".
The fact that he is playing hide the swastika with 5 hookers has nothing to do with it in his mind. What a perverted sense of infallibility he must possess. His wife should publicly declare she never wants to see his "bloody arse" again and boot him out for good. What a scumbag this guy is, and what an embarrassment to the sport of F1.

that $300 million he received from bernie a few years ago is going to be whittled away quickly. Unfortunalty, just like Eliot spitzer here in new York, this puke is always going to be a rich man..fortunately they will both be ridiculed until the day the y die. This story actually was brought up on my local rock station today during sports. They have NEVER mentioned F1 in any way, shape or form....EVER

Actually they have lived in separate homes and countries for many years. There were even rumors about him being gay, but at least he squelched those. :)
