Not in R&T,... but not even close to the buying a gallardo with 9 credit cards thread, and not having enough left to register the car... in the lambo section

I couldn't keep up with that one. Is that what the ending was? Ha, I could have bought that car on 3 cards.

Max's now famous web video will be featured on The O'Reilly Factor tonight, for those of you in the US. It should be pretty entertaining if only to see how badly Max's role in motorsport and the irony of the Nazi connection can be screwed up by O'Reilly.

Funny; News of the World reported that on the video, when Max is barking orders in German, the dominatrix is heard to complain "I can't understand you. I don't know what you want me to do!"

    Feeble, Max, very feeble.

Nice. I hope the rumor of the manufacturers joining together and asking him to stand down comes true. unlike the failed GPMA they now have one thing they did not truly have in the past.....leverage............
This was in the Times Online article....

Text of letter from Crown Prince of Bahrain to Max Mosley
    Dear Max,

I was sorry to learn of the media stories which emerged on Sunday in the UK.

In light of the allegations, I suspect you may be deliberating on your planned attendance at the Grand Prix here in Bahrain later in the week. I therefore felt it important to convey the position of Bahrain and its people.

Clearly of paramount importance is the success of the event for all concerned - the Kingdom of Bahrain, Formula 1 and spectators. The focus quite rightly should be on the race.

With great regret I feel that under the current circumstances, it would be inappropriate for you to be in Bahrain at this time.

I don't want to add to the difficulties in which you find yourself, but I hope you understand the position we have taken.

    Yours sincerely,

    Shaikh Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa
Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain

Hey, I myself totally hope that I'm wrong. I'd be delighted to be wrong.

I'm so sure he won't step down because I have learned a lot about the man reading BusinessF1 of the past 5 years. It is absolutely incredible how systematic he went about cementing his position. I wasn't kidding about the "yes men" he surrounded himself with. He also rules over pit access with an iron fist, which is why the media and websites are reluctant to report too much about the story. You won't see a campaign in the newspapers calling for his resignation. Also USGP05 has shown me (and the world) that he puts his head and will above anything else: He doesn't care for the press coverage, the fans, the team managers, the organizers, heck not even Bernie. And that was at the heart of the FIA matter. That was about a F1 GP and the US market (which I'm sure he realizes the significance of for the car manufactuers), yet he was willing to let it all go down the toilet just to show the world who is boss. So something like a sex scandal with Nazi overtones (again, I'm not trying to make light of this, I found it repulsive and immoral to the nth degree and the guy should be taken out of FIA for good) won't even register on his personal Richter scale.

Besides: Who is there to take away his power? Only FIA delegates can do it and he has all of them in his pocket.

He will never resign. And if I'm wrong, I'll be utterly delighted and owe SRTMike some Sapporo for which I'll gladly pay knowing full well that the worst idiot is no longer ruining my favourite sport.

    Here's something to consider:

Obviously someone had a woody for Max (other than Max himself, of course)

Also, it is probably safe to say that Max has a lot more skeletons in his closet than we currently know about. It was obviously not the first time he went to a brothel and I am sure this time was not the worst of what he's done. So, what *else* is out there?

Furthermore, I am sure that the girls in the video were paid for participating other than just the $$ they got from Max. If Max doesn't man up and go through with the course of action he's being pushed to (which is resigning from the FIA), then what *else* will come out about him?

It would probably be trivial for one of the hookers to be bought and her identity exposed, and I'm sure her side of the story will be to tearfully reveal that Mosley liked to <insert incriminating thing here>. That would be easy for the orchestrator of the whole situation to engineer.

But I am sure there are a lot more skeletons in his closet. Maybe he enjoys kiddie porn, maybe he cheated with someone's wife, maybe he colluded with someone to ruin someone else, etc, etc. People who previously maybe didn't like Mosley but had no outlet to leverage that may start to come out of the woodwork. Maybe a woman from college who reveals that he assaulted her or a man who claims he has had homosexual relations with Mosley, or a couple of hookers who say Mosley regularly demanded they call him "daddy hitler" or something.

If the motive of the person who engineered this situation was to just embarass Mosley, then perhaps it's mission accomplished. If their motive was to positively ruin the man, then I'll wager there is more dirt out there being held in reserve. When you want to create true carnage, you detonate a bomb, then you wait for all the looky-loo's to come running and see what happened, then you detonate another. Now that Mosley is front and center in the news, the engineers of this may be waiting to see what happens next. Even if Mosley weathers this storm, then SURELY he would be absolutely demolished if another scandal about him broke - just as public opinion was juuuust starting to move to something else.

That's another reason Mosley should bail. Its probably not the end of his humiliation if he keeps on with his job.

But I will relish in the embarassment and humiliation of such a deserving candidate for as long as it lasts!

    re: Max's skeleton's....
There has to be A LOT more stuff out there that he has taken part in, that has not come out yet. It's not like he woke up one day and said. 'You know, it's a cold, blustery Friday in England, I've got a great job, tons of money, and a nice family: I think I'll go get 5 hookers and have an orgy while pretending we're in a prison camp'........

This letter may tip the balance, don't underestimate the power it may have in leading the way for others to follow suit in publicly denouncing Mosley. The sooner the better.

    This is a great post.

As much as we can make fun of this guy for his perversions, we have to recognize a few things. Everybody has done things for which they are ashamed. Everybody has done things in bad taste. Hell, bank robbers who get caught are sorry they got caught. But, one cannot 'un-ring' a bell and a bank robber cannot simply return the money and say, "No harm, no foul."

Most people can control or hide their perversions, but if they are exposed, consequences follow. Max' perversion may be the product of a very sick mind; and maybe it is his parents' fault; and maybe his inner child has been hurt (see note later on this). But the point is this . . . his actions are so offensive to so many people that he cannot keep his position. He must go, and the longer he or Bernie take in making this decision the more F-1 is harmed.

Let us not forget the words of that great American poet, Don Henley, "I'd like to take your inner child and kick his little ass." (Eagles, "Get over it.")

Hopefully Prince Al (of Monaco) can bar him too, that certainly wouldn't look good for Maxy on F1's biggest stage.
