There was one in the video last week; try to keep up. And for your viewing pleasure, a brief eulogy of Max' dear old dad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6XScqVBbXQ
I think Max should step down as he has obviously been pretty silly and reckless. I am not 100% convinced about the Nazi side to this story though. When I watched the video I saw no swastikas, no goose-stepping and there were no 'Heil Hitler's. My take on this is that Rupert Murdoch wanted revenge on Max for suing the Times so he set Max up. He did a great job too. I think the Nazi side of this is unproven though. If I'm right then I think Max has every right to be angry and feel he has been unfairly set up. I'll still be glad to see him go, but the way this has been done makes me uneasy.
Does anyone understand what this means ? JOINT STATEMENT FROM BMW AND MERCEDES-BENZ "The content of the publications is disgraceful. As a company, we strongly distance ourselves from it." "This incident concerns Max Mosley both personally and as President of the FIA, the global umbrella organisation for motoring clubs." "Its consequences therefore extend far beyond the motor sport industry. We await a response from the relevant FIA bodies."
The BBC says it does: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7328018.stm And for those not convinced of the Nazi connection-what on earth woulfd it take? You can't actually be that ignoranrt of his personal history as a fascist, and the family history as well, can you? Again: HITLER WAS GUEST OF HONOR AT HIS PARENTS WEDDING. Max was an active member of the fascist Union party in the 69s (oops, meant 60s but I'm letting that stand for the fun of it!) He was arrested at race riots for crying out loud. He's always said "Oh, I've changed my mind about all that," but clearly any sane man who wanted to distance himself from his FORMER NAZI PAST wouldn't run around speaking German while he whipped hookers in prison uniforms. The connection is so obvious it would take a blind idiot to miss it. No need for swastikas.
The arrogance of Mad Max knows no bounds: He finally knows he's toast, but flings $#!+ at the German manufacturers on his way out the door. Oh, well done, Max. If anyone had any question about what a loathesome monster you are, this removes all doubt. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/66297 Oh please, SOMEONE defend him now. get right down there in the gutter with him.
Ron Dennis vs Mad Max in a 1 round no time limit cage match. Winner gets to be President of F1. And a 100 MIllion refund.
No - someone typing on a BBC forum says it does. As I said - Max should step down as he has brought the sport into disrepute and he can no longer be taken seriously. I have still not seen anything that proves he was acting out some Nazi fantasy though. His full quote from Autosport is: He is still saying he's no Nazi and I have still seen no proof that he is lying.
"FIA president Max Mosley claims BMW and Mercedes-Benz should have contacted him before issuing their joint statement criticising his behaviour." I read that and my mouth drop's I'am speechless.. Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that he is sane.
So what's with the headlice bit then.. I agree he has been set up with the Nazi slant, but he went along with it, in fact he paid for it..
Let's review, yet again HITLER WAS THE GUEST OF HONOUR AT HIS PARENTS' WEDDING MAX MARCHED IN FASCIST DEMONSTRATIONS At some point, apologising for the behaviour of a fascist reflects badly on the apologist. That point has been reached. Consider your position carefully.
Just found this: http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=34343 I was going to quote a couple of sections from the article, but I have decided to post the whole lot. I'm not the only one with doubts: I don't like Max. I think he should go whether the Nazi angle is proved or not. However I think he should resign and then sue the paper about the nazi claims. The paper has proved he's an idiot with a libido - it has suggested, but not proved that he's a nazi.
That is all true and it was all true weeks ago. It does not prove that Max participated in a 'Nazi sex orgy'.
You can go round in circle's with (was he acting out Nazi sex game's") or not The truth is ,It make's no odd's the damage is done. And he run's the risk in pursuing it in court that other thing's coming to light. I don't think for 1 minute this was a adhoc sting, it is a well thought out one, and someone that's not scared of losing a pit pass.
Me? I'm just a pervert. I think Max is hoping to prove the same thing. I agree that he is toast - even if he gets an apology from the paper and they accept that there was no nazi element. Even though this was obviously a set-up I don't think he was forced to take his clothes off. He is the one who put himself in this position. I agree that he needs to apologise to F1 fans, manufacturers, sponsors, and his family whether he was Zeig Heiling or not.
BMW, Mercedes, Honda and Toyota took my advice - yay! Now Ferrari and Renault must do the same as manufacturers. Then the other teams should also step up to the plate. As for Mosley and whether this was a NAZI sex orgy or just a regular one, well... the girls are dressed as prisoners, clearly. Also, he speaks to them in German (clearly NOT because they are German girls, because one girl says she cant understand him). Hmmm German 'master' acting in a dominant way over girls. It's not PROOF that it's a Nazi theme but it strongly suggests it. We'll never have definitive proof... people say "well where are the swastikas?" like that's the litmus test - come on! This was a sex fantasy not a freakin reenactment, it's not like they were trying to be historically accurate, it was simply playing out a theme and that theme is strongly reminiscent of WWII/Naziism. But this is not a court of law where Max is innocent until proven guilty. This is the court of public opinion - that's what will determine if he can keep his job. Given that his parents were Nazis and given that his father was close to Hitler, and given that Max himself was a Nazi/facist supporter and known and proven to be so, it's difficult for people NOT to make the connection between that and what they saw on the tape. And we are to rely on Mosley's word that it wasn't what it looked like? He is a morally and ethically corrupt man who has no problem lying and twisting the truth to his own ends. I don't trust him one bit and I think he would absolutely lie to save his hide. So his statement that it was not nazi related means precisely nothing to me. The damage has been done, he needs to step down. I think he will not do it voluntarily but pressure will mount on him. I am heartened that the manufacturers who have spoken out have done more than just condemn his actions but have made it clear they expect a response from the FIA.
No kidding Steve, isn't that just the very height of arrogance? He thinks several multibillion dollar global corporations should check with him and take his distorted word at face value before they issue an important public statement condemning his actions. The man really is nuts, I truly think so. Also, the last line of his statement was ""No doubt the FIA will respond to them in due course as I am about to respond to the newspaper in question." What is that supposed to mean? To me it can read two ways. Either 1) The FIA will be putting those companies on legal notice just as I am doing to the newspaper. I.e. "you will not speak out against me or you will suffer the consequences!" (or should that be "you vill suffer ze conseqvences!" 2) Or it means "you'll get your answer just like that newspaper will!" I.e. a thinly veiled threat to the newspaper. If it's the first, Max has lost his marbles. If it's the second, what purpose would it have to issue a threat to the newspaper in his response to the OEM's? They are unrelated. Why would he cloud the issue by not just dealing with the OEM's letter on it's own without trying to insert that little footnote threat to the paper at the same time? What an utter utter oaf. Lets hope he gets hit by a bus on the way to work or realizes he is an absolute joke of a human and ends himself forthwith.
