hi everyone. i'm sure this must have been asked before.... what is the maximum ignition advance for the euro 308 carburetor-ed engine? i have a fully map-able ignition and so i can dial any curve. i find the handbook data contradictory. also the data, as far as i understand it, says the timing is at maximum advance, 33 degrees btdc at 5000 rpm. i recall someone saying they have a maximum advance of 40 degrees btdc. LIB 308 will be going on a dyno, for optimum tuning, but i would like to get it ball park before.
thanks in advance (please excuse the pun),
    alan.

Rent some dyno time. Many years ago I used my Dynojet 248 to set my ignition timing on my 308. It's hard to tell 5-15hp by a butt dyno, but it's there. Plus you will have the ability to not just set the total advance, but to shape the curve too.
