May 29-31 FCA Mountian Wine Festival Overnight Trip

On the weekend of May29-31, The Ferrari Club of America- Southeast will be hosting a very exciting event. The 1st Annual Ferrari Mountain Wine Fest! This is a 2 1/2 day event with super deluxe accommodations and a nationally recognized wine festival. There are wine seminars, a blues festival, golf outing, and a mountain drive.

from the Carolinas board---------------- 5/29-31 in the NC Mountains in conjunction with the Highlands Wine Festival.

Most of you NC/SC people will recall that we had been planning an event that same weekend at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. As it turned out, our FCA Southeast Region buddies from GA and SC were also planning an event in our NC mountains with a nice little twist so we've decided to join their effort!

This event will be held in Highlands, NC during the Highlands Wine Festival and will include great mountain drives as well the opportunity for golf, other outdoorsy activities, etc. It will be a charity event to benefit the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society.

I should especially note that we will also be doing a drive thru the mountains to the late Coach Ibrahim's estate in Clemson, SC where we will see his family, see his spectacular Ferrari collection, lie & cuss, etc. Many of you will remember him from various FCA events, Fchat, etc...Coach I was a great, great man who was a friend to us all and passed last year. I'm extremely pleased that he will remain a part of our FCA events posthumously!


Activities and Schedule
Friday: Bascom wine tasting and grazing dinner. The Festival opens at 6:30 pm till 9:00pm. For those wishing a more substantial dinner, there are many restaurants locally but beware that most of the town shuts down after 9:30pm.

Saturday: Several activities are available for Saturday afternoon and evening.
AM:
Rally drive thru the mountains including a stop at the Ibrahim Estate and “open garage” of the Ferrari collection.
Golf outings to several local courses
Old Edwards BBQ & Blues Festival
Shopping galore!
Bascom Wine Festival seminars and speakers for morning and afternoon sessions

PM:
Bascom Wine Festival evening activities include more tasting, a wine auction, and a seated dinner. The Gala starts at 6:30pm.

Sunday: Head home.


There are several options for accommodations...one of which will be The Old Edwards Inn & Spa, an amazing property that you may be familiar with already. Others are more reasonably priced but no less convenient from what I understand.
