Anyone have one of these and any luck with these long term and any tips. I am 51 and have been good friends with a woman who is 30. We have been very good friends for the last 2 years and now things are getting a lot more serious. She is a fairly well know musician and travels a lot and we mainly see each other when we travel. The relationship is more of a meeting of equals than a mentor type relationship. My other relationships with women this age have been mostly physical and short term (6 months -1 year).

I have been with my wife for the last 21 years and we have had an open marriage that has been working so I don't think I will be ending that.

Well, when I was young I had something of a relationship like that.

When I was 16, I met, and eventually fell in love with a 78 year old lady.

I know what you're thinking, but it wasn't like that at all.

Up to that time I was a very moody teen, dwelling constantly on death, even faking my own death to shock my parents.

But after I met her, I learned how to live! Boy, did she know how to live.

She was so eccentric, even lived in an old caboose!

Yeah, I'd say a May- December relationship can work, it certainly did for me.

No we have an open marriage. My wife knows her and has met her. The same went with my past girlfriends who were more in my age range at the time.

Yes we have been dating for a couple of months but things are getting well past the best friends stage.

What I am asking if anyone else here has had a long term relationship with some one a lot younger and what the dynamic of the relationship was.

    Ok.

If you are emotionally bonded to your wife and do not see ending that relationship, why would you want to get emotionally bonded to the other woman?

THAT I think would be breaking the spirit of the open relationship with your wife, would it not?

Open relationships are usually just about allowing physical attraction ($ex) with others, NOT allowing serious emotional relationships to develop.

Aren't you going outta bounds (your and your wife's "open" agreement ) on this one ........................... and thus "cheating?"

Help me here. I actually want to understand (not criticize).

I thought most Ferrari guys were the playboy types and dated younger women. I guess that was a 70's thing and why I hang out in the vintage section. LOL

At one time we had the same girlfriend and she lived with us for 6 years. The past 15 years I have had a series of girlfriends that I went out with. These women did not live with us. Most of these relationships were fairly serious, long term (3 years +) and not just sex.

With this comment Steve, I think you posted in the wrong forum.

    Ferrari is about cars.

If you want pu$$ies, go to the Lambo Chat section. It is full of inverted penises with gold chains that squat when they pee. Stats show that 50% put the sock in the correct side of their pants.

Now, shall we get back on-track ?

No not breaking the agreement set up over the years only difference here is age difference. My question mainly is what is the dynamic of dating a woman that is 20 years younger.

That is a tough one. A generation is a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time in real terms.

You are going to have to RETROGRADE and go back in time to re-live things, some of which you'd rather not, and she is going to have to excelerate her learning (aging) curve perhaps faster than she would like, to make it work.

I have friends with that "problem" and they are married. I see it ending badly (them) as neither want to bend to close the gap. When they are 70 and 90 it probably will not matter ............ but my money says they will never make it that far. And then you add your dynamic and ...........

Just enjoy the time together your wife graciously has provided ...................... and remain true to her and your agreement.

I have a buddy who is 58 who is dating a 26 yr. old. They are both married to someone else. Last week he gave up on his wife and moved out and now the gf did the same and they want to be together. I just don't see how this much difference can work for 3 to 6 years.

Are you pissed about something? The guy is free to live his life as he sees fit. He is in the off topic section and not in the car section and while we all have differing views of this situation, he is asking a simple question. The complex nature of his marriage is apparent.

    No.

I have issue with the way he asked in that post, not what he asked.

    Please read my posts again.

I am not judging and am actually interested-- in learning and helping (if I can).
