Saw this and thought the price was quite a bit low? Anyone? http://www.globalautosports.com/car/2004-Maybach-Type57V12-Sedan-12702.html
Well, it is a 2004 w/ 30,000 miles. What is a S600 trading for with those specs? Edit: a 2004 S600 w/ 30,000 miles is roughly $80,000, a little more than half. (according to KBB)
KBB is too high, they are more like $60-65k, and depreciating at the rate of about $1000/month. The old body style really took a hit when the '07 S-class came out.
Last week I had dinner with a guy who had a dealership; although he doesn't have a showroom anymore he had recently brokered a Maybach for a friend - he mentioned they're wholesaling in the $130k range.
The Maybach, while an amazing car on the inside, isn't really all that discernable from the previous bodied S-Class, especially the 57. Now with the new S-Class out, the Maybach seems almost Bristol like to me. I fully undertsand what amazing machines these things are on the inside, but Mercedes really needs to step it up, and if they keep the Maybach label alive, I'm sure they will.
Wow...!! Talk about depreciation. Jeesh. I was surprised to see that 57 so low, but $130 really says a lot of their resale value.
