its like a 100 degrees out here, im driving a little hard, but not too hard, just got back to the city from a mountain run, all is well, until i notice some steam from the next lane, so i thought.....
One of my transmission hoses burst, and i lost all transmission fluid along came the lack of hydraulic pressure, so i was stranded on the left most lane in the center of downtown, not fun.

Flatbed it to the shop and they said i can go back up in the evening, yea! :)
but those hoses are fragile, it happens on 599s and 458s too, but nothing u can do, till it bursts :(

I suggest if possible, going to silicone hoses where possible. I've had rubber-based hoses (even with metal mesh reinforcement) fail at inconvenient times. I've switched to silicone instead of replacing with another factory hose and it makes a difference! I don't beleive it is even possible to melt it, it will simply combust at some extreme temperature (well beyond the temp of metal having problems).

Now that said, this means that you will not pop a hose in an overheat condition (which could, in theory, save components by the hose failing before metal components do). So this means it could be quite possible you are warping metal or popping gaskets (or both) instead of a hose failing, if you don't react to overheat indications on the dash (or the gauge/sensor has failed).

Glad you are having fun with the GTO, it is a dream car for sure! :)

thats the 1st thing i suggest my shop to replace them with, since ferrari's 2" tranny hose part is super expensive, and i have them blue silicone hoses on my bikes and it looks super cool,

but my shop wouldnt do it saying the factory ones have the metal wire mesh reinforced and it wont break or leak, it just pops off from their tie ends, due to heat or extreme conditions. And silicone might seep under extreme heat.

i used to shift gears for fun like im playing a musical instruments now after this hose popping off and leaving me stranded, i will cut down my slash impressions in the summer :(
