Running on a similar "handling" circuit at Jerez, Spain, MS produces the fastest time of the week after earlier being down 2 secs to Renault. Renault completed testing yesterday.

Michael Schumacher finished at the top of the time sheets today at Jerez.

The Ferrari driver achieved the fastest lap time of the week (1’16”626) and finished in front of the two BMW drivers, Jacques Villeneuve and Robert Kubica.

Mark Webber and Luca Badoer both had small off track excursions but there was no serious damage to the cars.

Christian Klien, Jacques Villeneuve and Robert Kubica all stopped on the track while Jarno Trulli, Ralf Schumacher and Mark Webber had small technical problems during the day but were able to reach the pits by their own means.

    Jerez - 07/07/06
    1. M. Schumacher - Ferrari 248 F1 - 1'16"626 (+0"000) - 93 laps
    2. J. Villeneuve - BMW Sauber F1.06 - 1'17"714 (+1"088) - 97 laps
    3. R. Kubica - BMW Sauber F1.

    4. L. Badoer - Ferrari 248 F1 - 1'18"785 (+2"159) - 59 laps

"We".... since when does a handful of over critical old writers' opinion count as "we"!?

Ferrari is still the best team out there and Michael Schumacher is still the greatest racer of all time!

    Renault's and Michelin's home track?

They'll put everything up to snipers in the trees into winning this one.

Remember what they did to Trulli for losing third in the last corner in France?
If Ferrari wins this one, they'll haul the guillotines out of the museums. :p

Especially after Italy takes the World Cup. :D

    Hi Carol,
I will be watching the F1 at Magny Cours (hopefully) at the ESPN near EPCOT.
You may remember last year you gave me a few pointers on where to see F1 in the US!

Whoever is under-estimating Schumacher and Ferrari is mislead.
They will both attack all the way to the last GP, and Alonso is far from safe.
MS is a fighter, and Ferrari will do its best to give him the tool for his 8th (and final?) championship.
The car is on the same level with the Renault, but I expect MS and Ferrari to outfox Renault on race strategy, one of Ross Brawn's strong points.
It's going to be MS v. Alonso to the wire.
