    My friend's new MB CLS500 is having transmisson problems. I don't know the exact problem(s). Has anyone heard of transmission problems with this car?

    Never heard of Mercedes having this problem. How old is the car?

    I had a BMW dealer tell me that MB did have tranny issues.

    Agreed. However; there was a software update that removed clunkiness in the "Sport" mode while coming to a stop. Does this sound like his problem?

    The 7 speed has pr oven problematic in some cars.

    I had that exact problem with my BMW 3 steptronic tranny. It was completely fixed with the software update. Would be interesting to know if M-B has the same issue.
