The 500E is a great car. Both are very nice, it depends on how spirited they like to drive. The MB is faster, more comfortable, and more luxurious. The Quattroporte is more agile, makes sweet V8 music, and might cost less in the long run to maintain. But what do I know! :D

Fully agree with Judge's comment. Maserati Quattroporte, a real deal and not a parts bin special...

Didn't like the cls in pics but saw some at a dealer next to one of the new 6 series BMW's which did look good in pics. Well in person the opposite turned out to be true. The cls was beautiful and grabs your attention, the bmw was a letdown, but i think it had something to do with its color.

The cls is the best looking merc. Very nice.

From what I've read and hears, the CLS is better for commuting and highway (smoother transmission and more comfort), but the Maserati has the better engine and handling when it comes to spirited driving on twisty roads.

    Styling-wise, CLS all the way.

Considering you're in FL, I'd go with the Benzie ...

    So?
Long term the Benz will last and not eat a large hole in your pocket

It depends on the needs of the drivers

oh an in Florida I would go for the Benz (reliable AC and better Crash results)
After all the left turn signal is intended to be on everywhere BUT where you need to turn Left

ive owned enough to say that german sell perceived quality, not long term durability. Its easier to make a new car in the showroom give the impression of solidity due to its great fit and finish rather than test and prove the technology over and over like the japanese due.

Most component failures in italian cars are from german components, bosch,zf etc......

ive watched my friends volkswagens and bmws get towed to many times while i was enjyoing the sun in my unreliable italian machine.....

I'm rather concerned about the fact that Ferrari sold Maser back to FIAT, Ugh, I think its still too early to decipher what kind of mess FIAT which is $8 Billion in debt will do with Maser. Finding parts for a Quatrrporte or service could be a real pain should Maser start pushing up daisies yet again

No, the F430 is the latest version.

The CLS really is an E class.
