Call my buddy Peter Moeller at Brabus-USA 1711 McGaw Avenue, Irvine, CA 92614 ph. 949.229.1770 He may be able to help you. A number of G's are in the shop now getting the "Barbus" treatment. For something different to do with a Saturday morning, he is hosting an open house at the Brabus-USA shop for us F-car guys and friends Saturday May 10th at 10:00 AM if anyone is interested. Let me know if interested....
Brabus needs to bring the G63 6x6 to the US... Try MB of Pompano right next to Champion Porsche. We had a family friend work as a salesman there (maybe still does) and he would tell me that most of his sales were cash as the people in Boca could afford to do so. And the trade-ins were always low-miles as the same buyers never drove them much. Never sounded like an issue you're running into.
The 6 X 6....Now THAT is a machine I'd love a ride in. Not a Brabus but, it will do...... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaNk116b2kw]Richard Hammond tests a 6x6 SUV in Abu Dhabi - Top Gear: Series 21 Episode 4 - BBC Two - YouTube[/ame]
there's also this one, slightly used, but at a non-MB dealer in St Louis so they shouldn't give you any static about a cash deal... 2014 Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG Obsidian Black over Black - Stock #14831T » STL Motorcars
I decided against the G63, as cool as it is, I just don't think I would drive it all that much and would become frustrated with it pretty quickly. Before I decided against it I had my local dealer try and find one, they said it was difficult but not impossible. They never asked how I was going to pay for it, just that they could get me one. I did however go with a new Cayenne Turbo S.
Reviving this thread to see if anyone has fresh thoughts or experiences.... Time to replace our (high mileage) X5M, primarily for my wife to use. Mix of country roads and suburbia, with occasional road trips. 2 young girls, 2 dogs. My wife is a "car chick" - she puts more miles on the Ferraris than me (incl the Speciale) and does her annual high-performance track training and odd track day. Our FF has probably done more school drop-off/pick-ups than any Ferrari in history. We drove the G63 and Cayenne Turbo back to back. Obviously, completely different. G63 has attitude and was fun; Cayenne performs fully as advertised. I think my wife is leaning towards the attitude. Both are around the same MSRP; both are overkill, but cars are the family hobby I guess. I've had X5M's since they came out, but the new X5 platform is moving away from the M DNA, plus want to try something different. Opinions? Thoughts? All logic points to Cayenne, but we tend to be illogical with cars... Thanks in advance
Cayenne Turbo is a much better car in every way. G63 wins in only one catagory... attitude. So 100% personal preference with that in mind.
You might look into new Range Rover Sport SVR. First jaguar or RR to wear new SVR badge (think AMG or M). Seems to fit the "car chick" and attitude requirements. Just took fastest lap honors on Ring from cayenne turbo s. Go drive Jaguar F-Type coupe R to get a sense of what engine and exhaust will be like. Sourcing one may be a problem. Limited production and most dealers have wait lists. Price point seems like good value relative to cayenne turbo s. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've owned a G500, two G55's, and a G63. The G63 is my daily driver and I love it. The G is the only vehicle, and I've owned and still own many exotic vehicles, that I will always have in the stable.
