There's a guy who owns a few Burger Kings here in Dallas.

He was the first in town with the Scaglietti. CS, Boxer, and some other stuff in his garage.

It's good to be the King.

well my local Subway has real cafe's all around it. for $2 more than a footlong i can get a REAL fresh made/cooked baguette/lepinja/caeser with real ingredients from the local produce market, and a beer while i wait in a nice atmospheric environment.

i wonder why the cafes/restaurants don't have big annoying adverts saying how fresh their stuff is and then get some kid with a jock-itch to tip pre-mixed truck-delivered containers of carefully proportioned "ingredients" into a bun, which they're very proud to have baked themselves... next door to a REAL bakery.

i just can't explain the sadness i feel for the people walking out of that place.

the chicken squawks the loudest when it lays a dud egg.

I'm not a big burger guy, but I'm in love with McDonalds fruit and yogurt parfait.

EDIT: that makes me sound like some sort of vegan wuss. nothing could be further from the truth. I'm a meat loving wuss who doesn't like burgers.

It's the parfait part that makes you sound a little fruity! (not that there is anything wrong with that)

I only eat MuckDees in dire emergencies. About 2 or 3 times a year when travelling usually. If travelling with youngsters, tell them the Big M illuminated means it's full, and if happens to be off.......it's closed.

You can save the next generation, it's not too late.......

FRUIT for god's sake, FRUIT!!!! You'll keep your wealth, your health, your teeth and have more energy.

I've eaten two fast food burgers in 3 years.

It's not because I am a fitness or otherwise general snob. It's because for 2-3 bucks more I can get a real burger served by a nice looking woman with a complete set of white teeth, and I don't have to listen to babies testing out their lungs. More often than not, I get to sit in a place that is a lot more relaxing than the glutton mayhem found in a McDonald's or whatever.

And if I am too busy to stop and eat, I go brown bag.

I'm not sure how it is any less real just because the ingredients aren't hand selected and carried by bicycle from the local produce market. It's great to have other options but not every place has a wide variety of cafes and restaurants conveniently located.

yeah, i should stop my b!tching and let people eat their "health" food in peace. i've whinged about this 3 times now, sounding like a broken record.

i'm just picky, i have soooo many shops that i've blacklisted because they've ruined a meal, y'know, stupid things like forgetting garlic sauce on a yiros (unforgivable) or making a bacon & egg sandwich but using ham instead of bacon (sounds petty, but to me it's like putting a prancing horse on an MR2). dumb-ass things like that which saved them maybe 30 cents for my meal, but lost them a customer for life, and a bad rep to anyone i talk to.

life's too short to eat crap food. :)

What really sucks is that a Dbl. QP w/cheese has about half your daily fat and caloric content and it left you wanting.

I always feel sick after fast food hamburgers since I stopped eating them with any frequency.

I did have a pleasant conversation with the CEO of McDonald's Asia today though ;)

I eat there occasionally, maybe 4-5 times per year.

Exceptions are when I am travelling, both in the USA and around the world. I'd rather swing into the small McD's that I found in Akasaka for a 340 yen (~$3.50) bagel meal than pay 2900 yen (~$29) for undercooked rubbery eggs at the New Otani's buffet. The coffee is better there, too. Added bonus.

Tuesdays is the only day I go. Big Mac day. 4 big macs for $7 (Cdn). You cant beat it. The fourth is usually hard to get down, and most of it usually ends up in the garbage, but the other three really hit the spot. So good.
