LOL. YOU HAVE NO CLUE. No one does. All you can do at this point is guess, pray, speculate. Mc has a terrible history price wise thus far...

Anything more is just wishful thinking.

488 is still selling OVER MSRP not $50K first year depreciation you speak of...

I've owned 12C and a P1 and everything in between and based on experience I'll bet the 720S will be the most amazing driving experience money can buy in that price point. If it loses 50k in a year (I seriously don't think it will) just sayin its not a huge factor when buying this car. You're buying the best sportscar money can buy and its worth the experience IMHO.

In the McLaren portfolio we will see 15 new models launched between now and 2022, the 720S is the first of them.

So you can easily wait, there is no reason to beat the noses bloody to get one of the first 720S. It has to be like that; there will be quite a few other weapons which will be even more interesting and will push the price of the 720S into the basement.

What! 15 more models in 5 years...man that is asking for a poor secondary market. 3 models a year? Well, they will keep Ferrari hopefully on their toes which would not be a bad thing at all.

Not in the rest of the world. 488 Spiders were available at MSRP all day from day 1 in the rest of the world and the wait wasn't years, whether you were a new customer or not. Some even had 488 inventory sitting at MSRP.

I must have forgot that the US Ferrari market is indicative of everything and every place in the world...

Sigh. Why do people keep saying that as if it's out of the ordinary.

McLaren models are considered Spiders, LTs, etc, not brand new cars.

    LP570-4
    LP570 Performante
    Aventador
    Aventador Roadster
    Aventador 720
    Huracan
    Huracan Spyder
    Aventador SV
    Huracan 580-2
    Huracan 580-2 Spyder
    Aventador SV Roadster
    Huracan Performante
    Huracan Performante Spyder
    Aventador S
    Aventador S Roadster

So within about 6 years, Lamborghini will have created 15 models.

McLaren models are not brand new cars! They include the Spiders, the LTs, the 540C, etc. They include trims and actual models.

I haven't seen the 720s but am very much looking forward to it. I have no doubt it will be a spectacular car. I also have no doubt that I will get one in about 2 years. Right now you can get a 330k sticker 650s for about 205k. Is the 650 such a bad car that it dropped this much? no way. The 650 is a fantastic car and its a bargain.

The 720 will be a fantastic car. But like all cars, it will drop and will be a great bargain in about 2 years.

Till then, Ill enjoy my SLS and my 488. When Im done with those, Ill get something else, likely the 720.

Oh btw- the 720 spiders will be out next year (mid 2018) - the coupes will 1000% drop like a rock when the spider comes out.

I wouldn't expect the spider to be out next year. 570s is over a year old and still doesn't have a spider yet.

Meh, I've had 8 ferraris and plenty of depreciation. My 575 was 268 sticker and sold for 90k. Reason: 25k miles. But a perfectly good no stories car. Same with my stradale, I couldn't give it away at 120k because of miles. The myth that Ferraris dont lose value only holds true if you dont drive them. My 458 sold for 50k under sticker. And I can get a 488 at or below sticker all day long.

Dont forget McLaren models also include hybrids. So a 720S coupe, 720S spider, 720S hybrid, 720e, all the same car but technically 4 models right there. Also there are race cars included in that number. 570s, 570GT, 570 spider, 570 sprint, 570 GT4. Theres another 5 models. So its easy to get to 22 models over 7 years.

Lamborghini is an excellent example of where such a broad "model diversity" leads, in my eyes the pure horror.

I am interested in McLaren products, I like them very much and would like to buy more. But what use the announcement with the release of the 720S that until 2022 another 15 models will be built without specifying them more precisely? Nothing! For me, it only leads to uncertainty.

    Well, just use common sense.

Do you really think McLaren is capable of manufacturing 15 unique models within 7 years? Of course not. How on Earth would that be economically feasible or sensible?

Here are most of the models for the next 5-7 years, not in order. In about 3-4 years you'll see a $500K car called P15. In 5-6 years you'll see the replacement to the 570S and/or P1. Really, that's about it. There isn't any uncertainty. Do you want a 570S, 720S, or a $500K car that won't be out for 3-4 years? Those are really your only options for the foreseeable future and they have vastly different price points, so very little competition in reality.

    570S Spider
    540C Spider
    570S LT
    570S LT Spider

    720S
    720S Spider
    720S LT
    720S LT Spider
    720S Sprint

    B23 (middle-seater very low production)

    P15 (Higher-end than 720S)
    P15 Spider
    P15 LT
    P15 Spider LT
    P15 Sprint

    P16 (570S/570GT replacement)
    P16 Spider
    P16 LT

    P17 (new P1)

Mclaren will sell all the cars they can make. It's a good brand with good cars. I just don't want to pay full boat on one. Would rather let someone else take a haircut and buy slightly used.

Well stated. By my count you've listed 19 cars which are 4 more than McLaren says will come between now and 2022. So some of the cars on your list likely aren't planned in that timeframe or won't even get built at all.

I think, if you just put this kind of thinking to it, there's absolutely nothing to be feared about their Track 22 plan and quite a bit to get excited about.

Cool down noon1, to use the term "new" model is McLaren's idea and not even the stupid little redcaruser therefore expects 15 all-new cars. But a nice lineup, you're certainly close to the McLaren roadmap.

Have talked with my dealer about the P15. Sounds very special! This car appears to become the basic model for future motor sport activities. The publication date and the purchase conditions are not yet clear (strictly limited ?? Do I have to own no, one or five Mac's before getting the right to buy one??). Whether there will be five derivatives of it I doubt today. But you have also enumerated 19 new models and not 15, perhaps there is the difference.

The same with the 7xxLT, when will it come, how will it come, the same funny game as with the 675LT? Do I have to look just dumb again as Coupe and Spider only go to selected customers? Probably yes.

Forget the B23, is pretty sure already distributed under the hand. Or not?

Probably the real McLaren hardcore faction has more insides about the 2022 roadmap and its secrets. MarcNC?

You can see I have no fear, just a few questions. Anyway, supercar game, is wanted to be, so we are delighted.

No McLaren is hard to get aside from very low-production ones. P1 and 675LT were easy to get for the people who weren't afraid to buy them. The ones who slept on the decisions are the ones who didn't get them.

McLarens might depreciate more, but there are no games to be played and anyone who wants one can spec one and get it in a reasonable amount of time. If they say a car is limited, simply don't sit on the fence too long.

B23 is however sold out and very limited. Then again, it will also probably be like $2-3M, so not much of a concern for the vast majority of buyers.

P15 will be a car to get but its going to be a pretty hardcore race car for the road. Not roomy and comfy like a 720S. Think Ford GT and then more extreme. So I've heard anyway.

BP23 definitely sold out with some wait list. Its a special project not a normal production car.

720LT several years away. That will be an awesome car. If you want one I'd suggest getting a 720S coupe first. Or wait it out and buy used. But there will always be something newer and better coming along so you may always be waiting.

If you want to save money, ie let someone else take the big depreciation hit, buy a 650S. Its still an awesome supercar just not the latest & greatest.

There are PLENTY on new 675LT's sitting at US dealers...THAT is the issue with McLaren. Too little demand and TOO many cars.

They have not figured out how to control that. Until then, they will be depreciation bombs.

Are they bad cars, heck no.

But people dropping $300K want a LITTLE balance...a little.

Prices on the LT are solid. It debuted nearly 2 years and MSRP on the coupe was $349K. Almost all cars are asking above that, some very substantially. If after two years the prices are still that high, I'd say their production is fine.

If demand was so low, the cars would have much lower asking prices. No one is knocking $50K off asking price on LTs

Had the pleasure of going for the private preview over the last weekend and i can tell you that this car will be a game changer in terms of dynamics and drivability, top that the performance this thing will have takes it very close to hypercar levels. The front is a bit controversial with the air vent and lights but like everything it will grow on you.. the rear is amazing and so is the side profile ... love the use of the full carbon roof structure and the doors are brilliant.
Highest power to weight ratio among all its competitors inc the 812/aventador S/ 488/TDF some great new colours and options too!
