These cars are exciting at all speeds, they just don't like city crawls (they overheat, their clutches burn, etc). Horses for course mate, horses for courses! ;)

Having driven the Av S hard for a while, I stand by my pov about the box as a pos. Dealer doesn’t disagree.

Test drove the 720S the other day when my flat tire was being changed on my 458 spider. Very fun ride, especially the acceleration blast off effect, but it wasn't engaging enough for me in track modes. I'd love to try out the spider 720S when it releases to see if that changes my opinion at all. I will say, they've come a long way since the MP4-12C in terms of handling and engine note (and of course acceleration).

That’s nonsense. Ferrari, McLaren and others offer courses where you easily learn to push “these cars to the levels of performance that they are engineered for”

At this time on autotrader.ca, there are four 720S with asking prices ( USD) - $185K, $195K, $200K, $206K. Those are phenomenal buys. These prices for a car that members here feel is the equivalent to a Pista going for 250% more.

720S's are very interesting and if you can find a well sorted one why not. There are some really bad build quality stories I am told though

I wouldn't call them equivalent except they are both very fast. If you want an every day super car then the a used 720 is a good choice.

In your view , in actual driving dynamics, without consideration to ergonomics, aesthetics, options, can you enunciate how you would distinguish them.

I would give the edge in comfort the 720 but I find the Ferrari seats and interior to be very comfortable as well. I think the big difference is that the 720 interior hugs you- like a cocoon. The Ferrari interiors are a bit more spacious. More roomy.

The acceleration difference between the two are negligible on the street. 720S 0-150 mph is 10.5 seconds Pista is 11 seconds. Humans can’t perceive a Half second difference like that the feeling will be quite similar (overwhelming). I definitely buy the 720S feelings more comfortable, Ive driven the car a half dozen times is amazingly comfortable. Ferrari’s bumpy road though is amazing, so I don’t know. The biggest draw back I have to purchasing a 720S is they truly are best serviced at a dealer and the closest dealer is 4 hours away. If I got a car that had issued it would destroy the experience for me. Mclaren needs more dealers or to open up their electronics platform to independent shops.

Believe me the speed difference is noticeable. Socal can respond as he owns both today and can compare back to back.

They are similar but due to the carbon tub and lighter weight, the 720 feels quicker. Pista is no slouch so I hesitate to say that 720 is sooo much faster or anything like that but GH is correct- 720 feels quicker.

For me the Pista feels a bit more raw or sportier not quite hardcore though. I have 800 miles on mine now and even the exhaust is starting to sound better. Gear changes are more abrupt both up and down. The 720 is a bit smoother - its like being catapulted from A to B. You dont even know how you got there it happens so fast and smoothly. I think for some this was the knock but it didnt bother me. Honestly, life is pretty good to have these choices. I dont think you can go wrong, its just a matter of what you prefer.

You’re giving me bad ideas... how good is the 720 spider in your opinion? Is it the car to get?
By the way, the sound is better than the coupe (being open) or it’s a bit turbo crap?
    Thank you!

It sounds decent for what it is and you can put the back window down for more noise. Great car cant go wrong.

Choice between 720S or 488. Decidedly in favor of the 720S. Does everything the 488 can but on a higher level. 720S current prices make it a screaming buy.

Is Mac drift? Ferrari is a very playful and happy-tail car, and drift and slides is a lot of fun even on the streets with everyday driving. But I never see a 720s in a street or road drift, even on YouTube, only donuts or little bit on track. No feeling that Mac is too serious and too sterile?

On the 720 there is a drift mode so you can select how much you want to drift. very cool.

Yes, I seen tests and whose cute pictures in menu, with choose of angle. I’m about practice of owners. How it works. Car have no LSD, differential is open, that’s very interesting solution, but it scary little bit for me. Especially when even Tiff Needle couldn’t make powerslides on mp4, with same open diff. If somebody try to drift 720, please tell us about your experience and feelings. It is important part of choosing car for me )))

I believe hamond drifted it on top gear. He said it worked well esp considering he is not a good drifter.
