Well that will be nice for the GT aspects of stopping at Starbuck's and gentle driving for sure. I'm sure it will handle perfect. But what I'm really interested in is some track feedback. Get that thing down south for some winter track time.

Agree from what my friends in UK say. And there are not many 'used' in US yet, because there are plenty at dealers new unsold.

How do you know this when they don't advertise them? Just curious. I know my dealer has 1 demo left for example and that's it.

They have things today called phones--you can call dealers (like I have) and ask. Even across the US

Get that thing on a track...but still interested in latte holder during your 300 mile trip though - ;)

The Performante is a NA 10 with reduced weight and added aero for better performance than the base Huracan. The spider inevitably adds some weight back.

The Aventador S is a much heavier NA 12 cylinder car. I enjoyed that car on a test drive, but prefer the SV version.

While the SV (with slightly modified exhaust, lol) is a true show stopper, it is by no possible means the handling, cornering, track fun weapon that is the Performante.

If you’re truly considering both, just drive the S and even a base Huracan and you’ll see the weight and steering differences immediately. There is also a significant price delta.

If I could only have one, I’d get the SV roadster. But she’s not a driver’s car as is the Performante.

I know, I bought the Dodge Demon (build #719, vehicle Order number 39401589). But I got a passenger seat also for $1 extra.. however, I am still waiting for the car 6 months later.. they said possible delivery in January, 2018 since they are running far behind production schedule...

Once I get it I can truly have an opinion of Demon vs. 488 :)

Not to mention those trick drag tyres that are useless on the road and the ridiculous skinny front wheels. On proper road tyres it wouldn't stand a chance agains the exotics. Moreover, I do't believe the silly performance claims even on those drag tyres. A journo had a try and couldn't get lower than 10.5'' on a drag strip with the special glue and everything!!!

Congrats! I think the Demon is a tremendous performance bargain. I have a Camaro ZL1 and it’s smiles for miles. Something about these American performance cars is just right. Enjoy.

The test drive comment is BS - no dealer is going to allow you to take an "extensive" test drive in a car selling over $300K. That's a bunch of crap. OK, maybe they will let you drive a Lambo extensively as so many are just sitting.
    [/QUOTE]

At the McLaren dealer there were 2- 720S being used for demo. I drove one for a couple of hours and was invited back again to do likewise. I was told that if ordered at that time, I would have my car in 6 months.

My Lamborghini dealer had one Performante as a demo and 0 stock. Delivery was slated for 6 months if ordered now.

One man's crap is another man's reality.

I am sure they did. I bet they also took you to the track in that 2 hours as well so you could test it out and see if it is on par with your Lambo.

Well, no. If your only goal is drag race your 4 door sedan then sure. If you care about build quality, luxury, materials, etc, then Tesla is not the choice.

As far as I know only the LaFerrarn, the P1 and the 911 have verified these numbers independently. I am talking only about the top 10. Oh the 488 has been clocked at 20.3 bit at a strip, not a normal roa. The Dodge has no chance of achieving that performance, especially on road tyres, like the ones that are fitted to all the other cars.

It sure does. Also, the build quality of Tesla is excellent now, not that it was bad. They've also improved the internal materials they use too. Quieter, faster, cheaper, more economical, better technology, less maintenance than any of its competitors. Now all they have to do is scale up production and not go broke in the meantime and they'll be great.

Huh? 720S has ran 9.73 at 146.7. Customer car, video posted for proof. 918 has ran 9.79 at 145.8, video on YouTube. What do you mean by independently verified if not that?

This drag racing "game changing" maybe for some people even "life changing" thread is hillarious, popcorn time for me :)

But to add some fact to this thread, here in Europe there are plenty of 720s for sale sitting at dealers, both new and used, and I mean PLENTY for a car at this price point. Around 20 of them just in Germany so there is really no problem to buy one at any time of you have the funds.

You are now breaking the heart of the "game changing" guy who believes that, unlike Lambos that are being given away, 720S are so scarce that it will take the sale of a kidney to get one.
