McLaren Cutting Massive Number of Jobs from Supercar and F1 Divisions
    https://www.motortrend.com/news/mclaren-cut-1200-jobs-due-coronavirus/

Will things get worse for them when it comes to sales/profit? The market is flooded with new/barely used McLaren's. But even if they go bankrupt, that doesn't mean they go out of business, just means 'restructuring'.
I just hope the 765LT is not affected. It's production ready. When are first deliveries? Production run could be slowed down/stretched out? Delay for Spider?
I just want to see a Nurburgring time (with full run on vid), Chris Harris sliding it around a race track, and a 765LT vs Senna vs ? shootout. :)

This is bad. Those are massive losses for a company that doesn't do a lot of R&D.

This car looks great, I almost switched my spec to be similar to this one but thought better of it.

Went to unveiling at McLaren Charlotte and firmed up my commitment. I couldn’t help myself. I think the deciding factor was that I actually fit in the car with the Senna seats (6’6” 260lbs). It’s not comfortable in the strictest sense of the expression, but I can make it work. Plus, I think the car really demands the Senna seats. I might even do the Nardo Orange. I am going back in the AM to check out the car in the sunshine. Working on my spec now. I will start a new thread when I have it finalized. Here’s some pics from this evening.

I went with the standard carbon fibre (aka ‘P1’) seats as I find them to be more comfortable for my body shape.

I also specced the double glazed engine window and am glad I did after watching this video which suggests interior cabin sound will also be enhanced. Something to consider if you’re on the fence about that option.

I completely agree. This is a must have option. It’s certainly pricy ($8,470...huh?), but it’s definitely unique. I also like how it’s easily visible from outside the car too. Great video. Thanks for posting. I had not seen it.

So I left on the fence last night about Nardo Orange. I went back this morning to see it in the direct sunlight, and was able to confirm that, at least for me, the color is very light dependent. It goes a little pasty in sunlight. The pastel effect is more pronounced in daytime conditions. Of course, that might be exactly the appeal for some people. Please note, this color, like many colors, is not properly captured on an iPhone. Here are the daylight shots, but it’s not really what my eyes saw.

Nardo looks great in photos but wasn’t brave enough to order it blind. I had a lava orange GT3 RS and found it to look a bit faded (pastel/coral) in certain lights. Sounds like Nardo is similar, albeit a bit darker/punchier which is good.

I optioned smoked white which was also done sight unseen but it felt less risky. I expect it will be a slightly whiter version of Porsche’s chalk - which I love on the GT2 RS.

My other top considerations were napier green and papaya spark but ended up with something more subdued. Silica white with blue calipers and blue interior accents was also on my list (I still think that spec would be a winner). Also look at cirrus grey if you like metallics. It has a blue undertone which would work very well with blue calipers.

For those in the know, are there any allocations left that could be filled by someone without any Mclaren buying history?

I secured one without an ownership history. I had been angling for a while, and it worked out. Supposedly my car should arrive Q1 next year.

I don't think you can go wrong with Papaya Spark. It looks great with the contrasting black and carbon fiber accents.

I wouldnt have chosen the engine window if i didnt have to, but the Roof scoop is only available with the enigne window, and i did absolutly want
the roof scoop, as per MSO when tracking, and in do a lot, the scoop helps to reduce engine temp by around 10 degres celsuis by just blowing air on top of the engine compartement.
Which per my view is a brilliant idea then my 675lt tends to overheat on hot days on the Nordschleife under heavy load.
You cant never get enough cooling when traking

Track performance wouldn't be too close to Senna for much less money?

I think this is a good point. My guess is that the 765LT already had to be tuned in such a way to prevent it from surpassing the Senna.
