Saw a solid green 650S spider today like this one, passing by my office. Looked great - I don't think the nose looks as good as the 12C HS, but it has cool presence.

People are still buying new 458s and Aventadors when barely used cars are $100K less...

It is also a 2 model year difference. What I am wondering is if 12C prices may tick up a bit as the cheap supply dries up and 650S has a more "normal" depreciation rate. I am biased of course but I do think more and more people are buying the 12C at the ridiculously low prices and I think those buyers may keep the cars longer.

Do you ever contribute actual value here on FerrariChat or is your entire goal to just mimic a really bad night club comedian?

625C is a regional model meant to address the specific desires of their Asian customers.

So why don't you buy it since you can get it for below $200K?

So you think that car can't be had for less than 200k? Doesn't seem that implausible.

Of course you can -- low spec with a hideous brown interior.

Believe it or not, the only exotics that really sell with brown interiors are Ferraris.

John, I just get a kick from people posting on prices, yet they never step up to buy anything themselves. I am sure you can get a good deal on it. I have a 12C so I don't need another one.

I've had my 12C for closing in on 2 years, have about 9K miles and to me that is very telling, as I have several cars and average more like 3K miles per year on each one (e.g. 2008 Z06 with around 20K miles, 2001 Viper GTS with 27K or so.

The car does everything well, I drive it rain or shine, grocery store, office, track. It is a ridiculous bargain at the used prices in the $160K range. Objectively, nothing performs as well.

The Nav system is pathetic for this price level, but I find the sound system fine (I generally just plug in a memory stick with MP3s so am not the most demanding), and I think the HVAC is great, surviving Texas summer heat very well. I prefer all the ergonomics to the 458. The paddles rotate with the wheel, I don't like buttons on the wheel, and the independently adjustable handling and powertrain settings really allow for a broad spectrum of usability on the street and track.

The car is loaded with technology, beginning with a carbon fiber tub and extending to handling and powertrain. It is the hardest accelerating stock car I've ever driven.

I've had no issues with reliability, a handful of niggling issues with rattles (all fixed by dealer) and a bad tire pressure sensor.

Finally, I love the nerdly swipe feature limited to the 2012 year. I just love the gentle rub under the door and voila! Door opens.

I had a 12c prior to my 458 and I loved it. I am looking to buy a 12c spider right now. If you're a buy and hold type of guy, snap one up- prices are low on 12cs right now.

    I wouldn't get a 650s right now.

    Good luck.

It's a 12C with some MSO parts and a non-purchasable front-end. They were originally around $500K and there were 10 of them. Some have unique colors like McLaren Orange metallic (papaya spark?) Some claim it has more power and/or revs differently or some change in engine performance/characteristics, but not even the dealers can confirm this. It's really only speculation and I personally don't believe there are any changes other than aero and cosmetics.

I'd pay a slight premium for one if you like all the options, though I think some of them are a bit too busy looking with all the MSO gear like canards, intake things, louvers, etc.

The only really unique thing about them is the front-end, which McLaren will not sell anyone else. Revosport makes an aftermarket front-end in that style, but apparently it is actually significantly flawed in that it doesn't direct the airflow correctly like the real version. Looks the same more or less on the outside, but on the inside it's not the same. Probably won't make much of a difference, but worth knowing just incase you do track the car and it screwed up the aero/cooling.

Thanks for the information as I was unaware of this special version of the 12C. The seller is asking a very large premium over a standard 12C and claims it has over 650 horsepower
