There's always been a lot of heavy breathing over the Skyline. I never even saw a picture of one until a couple years ago. To me it's incredibly boring. That's fine that some folks love it--different tastes. But to me it just looks like someone fixed up dad's Sentra with a big engine. And I know there's more to it than that. Please, nobody try to educate me about what a badass car it is. I just couldn't believe that, after hearing all this talk about the car, that it actually did look a little like the Skylines that Buick built all through my childhood!

The R34 GTR VSpec II Nismo is a bit more interesting... :)

F1 leaves the Skyline for dead in a standing start quarter mile (or so).

Silly comparison really, both amazing cars but the Skyline GTR is VERY "Japanese" and the McF1 VERY "European"...

They used to, Aussie TC is now 500BHP V8's. GTR's were mega when they raced against BMW M3's and Sierra Cosworths but that was a long time ago - 10 years maybe. They used to call the Skyline's "Godzilla" - with weight penalties their qualifying was never that amazing but on the narrow Aussie tracks they used bullet off the line (only 4 wheel drive cars) and from mid grid simply drive onto the grass from the lights and cross country past everyone to lead into the first turn - was hilarious to watch as were the drives by Tony Longhurst and Alan Jones in the M3's...Mega racing - wish I had it all on tape, good trip down memory lane...

Try 650+hp for the current Aussie V8 Supercars.
I didn't quite understand the point of the video. There are Skylines out there that could probably match the McLaren in accelleration, but the whole comparison is pointless anyway IMO.

There are many skylines out there that could easily out accelerate the McLaren. AWD with he HKS sequential transmissions make for some very quick cars. To even compare the two cars is pointless however.

I too agree, I have never found the Skyline to be an attractive car. Yes, I know it's more than that...
