I see some cars advertised designated as Launch Edition. What defines a launch edition car? Thanks in advance.
I'm not 100% sure, I have a Launch edition I think it basically means the first cars out of that particular model, special colours and combos etc.. But what I tell people is totally different What is Launch Edition? well that stands as a warning that the launch control feature on on this car is more aggressive than all others making it better than yours . .
It’s the first 800 or so cars that were ore specced when the 720 came out. Now you can spec your own car but to get as many cars out as possible they prebuilt a bunch of cars with preset specs. That is a launch edition car.
Actually 400 LE cars worldwide that were pre-spec'd as you indicate. Most of them are pretty loaded and they came with luggage and a small plaque. I've seen other mnfr's do something similar when a new car is released.
Basically pre-specced cars i.e. owners could not pick and choose options etc. That's the huge downside. The upside was they got their cars first.
Upside is that you got a well spec'd car but yes I agree spec'ing your car is fun but it takes a while. For some (myself) I pulled the trigger on an LE because it was built almost exactly like I would have myself. Sometimes is works out like this.. Also don't forget the nice luggage set you get and plaque.
