Here are some pictures of a McLaren SLR that I took here in Austin yesterday. No, I didn't see or speak with the owner. If I had, I would of asked him/her to open both doors and let me take some pictures. It was a small store and I'm sure they were watching me and waiting for me to leave.
I always thought the car would look huge in person, but the back is so short, it still looks like a normal size Mercedes. EDIT: it was parked next to a Lexus IS300 and it didn't stick out any further.
Saw one in Monte Carlo this summer, didnt find it wery good looking. For some reason, it looks better on picture that in reality.
LOVE that car, gained soo much respect for it after watching our stunt driver do a massive burnout on a private runway during a TV show shoot in CA. Here's that car w/ the Chrome SL600 Renntech (and a fellow Fchat member's 360 Spider): http://kenny.myphotoalbum.com/view_photo.php?full=1&set_albumName=autorox&id=Mercedes_SLR_McLaren_w_the_Chrome_SL600
Damn that's a good looking car. Too bad it doesn't resemble an F1 car at all (forgetting the loads of CF)
I would love to have one just because it has the name McLaren attached to it but in my opinion it is not a particularly breathtaking car to look at. There are some nice parts but as a whole it doesn't stand up to the looks of a 456, DB9 or many other cars that share the basic layout.
Oh they're about three times the size of your head if your head is normal size....because there are huge mufflers behind the vent...if you noticed the exhaust exits out the side just below them. Stunning car.
