    Yes and no: I wonder how much this is really going to affect Alonso personally. As a double world champion (and one who defeated the mighty MS) he has made his mark on F1 history already. And as the youngest champ to boot. McLaren (or rather his sponsors) pay him enough money to retire if he wanted to. So he might just see his career parked for a couple of years. Once he comes back from the dark side, he'll still be young enough to win more titles and maybe by then Kimi has had enough of Ferrari (or vice versa) and Fernando can fulfill the ultimate F1 driver fantasy: Win the title with the Scuderia.

    So all in all his life ain't that bad. Despite all the DNFs he is destined to endure over the next couple of years.
