^McLaren denies!!!!! (sort of) https://www.planetf1.com/news/mclaren-unhappy-with-misleading-report-on-ojjeh/ The team told RaceFans.net that the “the story in the UK’s Independent by Christian Sylt is entirely misleading” and that “Mansour Ojjeh has not left the business and remains a director of McLaren Group, the second largest shareholder and a fully involved member of the Executive Committee of McLaren.” The Woking team added that “it is “in the process of simplifying our corporate structure following the reorganisation of the group last year. “An important part of this has been the decision of the McLaren Group to populate its operating subsidiary company boards with purely executive directors, rather than some non-executives, hence the various resignations. Mansour is simply one of those non-executive directors. “However, the executive directors that have all decided to resign from the subsidiary company boards obviously remain as directors of the parent company, McLaren Group Limited. “Nothing in practice has changed other than a decision that makes for a more efficient and practical process.”
Interesting that @racefansdotnet @keithcollantine & @racinglines claimed Force India wasn't going into administration a day before it did. Now it says Ojjeh hasn't left McLaren when he has. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Zak Brown says "Alonso hasn't yet decided his future" about next year https://www.planetf1.com/news/brown-alonso-hasnt-yet-decided-his-future/ Brown you moron. YOU run the freakin' team, not Alonso. Tell Alonso what YOU want for the TEAM or tell him to pack up.
This is crazy, but then we are dealing with Zak Brown and Fernando Alonso re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. In short, Alonso is calling the shots at McLaren, and Zak Brown puts everything on hold to let his driver announce his plans for next year at his convenience. It's not right for a driver, however good he is, to tell his F1 employer that maybe the priority for next year could be in Indycar ! I couldn't imagine McLaren sinking so low ...
With their top driver in Alonso gone next year, what's next? Is Vandoorne their top driver? Maybe try to lure away Kimi?
Alonso best knock the lights off on his way out do not see the team recovering any time soon, zero leadership
Yeap. On the face of it, McLaren is hitting rock bottom and will start the 2019 season with a bleak prospect.
Nice article....at least it shows that i'm not biased when talking about Da Costa.....he was Marko's biggest mistake....by the way, in case some of you wonder why they picked Hartley....he was the one forking the money to get the place, they tried Da Costa but he told them that a professional driver should get payed, and not pay to race...he as a long time contract wih BMW and is no foul..i suspect they also aproached JEV but got a similar ansewr....
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/138319/mclaren-made-no-progress-this-year--vandoorne True that no progress has been made but give you have not made any either in 18 months against FA, this might not be the statement to make just now, given you are probably being replaced lol Or is that a good reason to speak..... Stoffel Vandoorne believes McLaren has not made any progress in Formula 1 this season after admitting it is "difficult to get a worse weekend" than the Belgian Grand Prix. Vandoorne came home last of the 15 finishers in his home F1 race at Spa, having qualified slowest on a weekend when he and team-mate Fernando Alonso both lacked pace from the opening practice session onwards. McLaren's slump means it has scored points in only three of the last eight races, which has dropped it away from the Renault/Haas fight for fourth in constructors' championship and closer to Toro Rosso and the Honda engine it ditched for 2018. Vandoorne said: "It's difficult to get a worse weekend. We've seen the performance we have is very far away from being good. "There's not really an explanation. "The reality is we haven't progressed since the start of the year, we haven't progressed at all compared to the others." After multiple problems on Friday, Vandoorne had also urged McLaren to sort its reliability before trying to compare him to reserve Lando Norris - who is being assessed as a 2019 contender with GP practice runs.
Thigs look better for vandoorne..aparently he might land in a Sauber, so that will be a huge improvement!!
Sauber says "no thank you" to Vandoorne. https://www.planetf1.com/news/vandoorne-not-a-2019-option-for-sauber/
Just arrived LA from HK. Be there Saturday afternoon. Staying most of the week. I’ve got some friends in Firenze. Trying to see if we can go to a pub or something.
Ocon confirms failed McLaren seat fitting AUGUST 30, 2018 Esteban Ocon has admitted he had a seat fitting at McLaren's Woking factory. Last week, it was rumoured the Frenchman could be ousted by Lance Stroll at Force India, but accommodated with immediate effect at McLaren. However, it is believed the 2018 McLaren could not accommodate his 1.86m height. "It's true that I went and it's true that that happened," Ocon is quoted by Spain's Marca. It is an alarming turn of events for the talented Frenchman, who earlier looked set to join Renault for 2019. "In Budapest we thought his future was clear," said Mercedes' Toto Wolff. "But it all changed within 48 hours. "There is no point in complaining. Renault getting Ricciardo was a no-brainer. They had to go for it. "It's unfortunate for Esteban, but we are continuing to help him to find a seat. There is a lot of interest and I'm very optimistic about the future," Wolff added.
Mclaren is so bad that the drivers won't even fit, lololo that's what you get for making a car for a racoon!!!
