The whole company structure looks a mess, the amazon programme shows the extent of the problems, when will the floor be ready .... about 1.30 tomorrow, about 5 days later the floor is finished. Every thing blamed on Honda. 2018 no where to hide guys Mclaren are the problem.
Agree with this. It doesn't mean Honda weren't a big part of the problem. But the Amazon documentary showed that McLaren have their own demons. It struck me as a bit of a bureaucratic organization and Zak Brown seems like a fish out of water. He's a marketing deal maker; every time he speaks he comes across as a pretty weak leader, always trying to please.

McLaren seems to me to be exactly what Fast Ian used to say - until you have the power the chassis will seem fine - take it to the next level and then that's when the flaws will show. Of which there seems to be a few. Best, Sammy

Boullier plays down McLaren B car hopes APRIL 30, 2018 Eric Boullier has played down hopes a reported 'B' car for Spain could be a silver bullet for McLaren. The British team has struggled so far in 2018 despite having switched from Honda to Renault power. Now, reports suggest the car changes will be so significant for Barcelona next month that it might be called a 'B' car. "There is a new direction for Barcelona," confirmed team boss Eric Boullier. "But you cannot expect us to leap ahead of everyone else. "I think 95 per cent of the paddock will bring new aerodynamic packages to Barcelona, so the difference will either be the same, we lose some ground, or perhaps we gain a little," he is quoted by El Confidencial newspaper. "It is up to us that our evolution works and lives up to our own expectations, and then to hope that the others cannot do the same," said Boullier.
This BS is getting tiresome. If they don't raise their game Alonso will be gone and so will their chances for a major sponsor.
According to #AMuS the MCL33 B-Spec car that we will see in Barcelona will have: new deflectors under Nose, new bargeboards, new engine cover, new floor, new rear wing.
McLaren B car to have radical nose MAY 9, 2018 The centrepiece of McLaren's 'B' car for Barcelona and beyond is a radical new nose. That is the claim of Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, although Fernando Alonso warned that the significant upgrade is not a "magical solution". "Barcelona is an opportunity to try some new things, see where we are and the direction we will take for the rest of the season," the Spaniard said. Correspondent Michael Schmidt said the 2018 McLaren's wings, bargeboards, floor and sidepods will be all-new in Barcelona. "The most striking detail will be the new nose," said the journalist. "The crash test was passed on April 11. "Rumour has it that the design is pretty spectacular. It's quite possible that McLaren says goodbye to the stub nose, perhaps doing something similar to Force India and Mercedes." A McLaren source revealed: "There were two working groups over the winter. "One was tasked with a basic test car for the Renault engine, while the other worked on the actual aerodynamic concept. That had to be held off until the new nose was ready. "The nose and front wing determine what happens further back on the car," the source added. Officially, McLaren is playing down its expectations for the 'B' car. "It's part of a season-long plan to develop the car, as we always do until the final race," said boss Eric Boullier.
