I did not include Pedro, as I have heard he will not have the ride. Hamilton wants Heikki. Question: What Spanish sponsors does McLaren Mercedes have? Vodaphone is based in England, Mercedes is in Germany. So what Spanish sponsors would dictate the driver that fills this seat?
DeLaRosa is another guy who was a never more than a Journeyman Driver, good tester, but would be a waste in the McLaren. Hopefully Hekki.
You have to forgive Ron: His first and last names have only one syllable. BTW: I think Heikki is screwed.
Don't know how close they were when they were teammates in 2005, but Lew was complementary of him when he came to F1. Sprechens, seems to have potential and would mean a few bucks to Spyker for their trouble...Sutil ???
Sutil is a pay driver with some money. Also being German would help Merc. But honestly I really don't see anybody but de la Pink in the McLaren next year. Until RD gets tired of that loser looking lame compared to Hami and then - maybe - Heikki gets a chance at the wheel. As I said before: Andretti and Mika in 93 all over again.
My middle name has three: Nick o las Any name with more than three syllables is a waste of time, especially if you want to be WDC. Has any WDC other than Emerson had a last name with more than three syllables? The press probably would be against such a thing. Andreas, why is Heikki screwed?
It doesn't look like he is getting the 2nd McLaren seat as de la Pink sits in there courtesy of his passport. So what's left? I don't see another seat. Renault doesn't want him anymore, so is he already done in F1 or is he going to be somebody's test driver? Edit: Well, maybe there is hope: Whitmarsh just named Heikki as a top alternative to de la Pink. http://www.blick.ch/sport/formel1/heikki-in-mclaren-pole-78603 PS: I was never a fan of de la Rosa and he really ticked me off with his role in Stepneygate. Would be nice to never see him race again.
The FIA in there infinite wisdom have now finished of his hopes and Mclarens, so its pointless to discuss because they are now potless. The reprecussions of this I hope will hit Bernie in pocket with viewers switching off.
OK, she only has three syllables in her first name and two in her last. That means less pain in my fingers on the keyboard. Good enough for me, give her the drive.
Today's report (www.autosport.com) is that Heikki Foursyllablename is getting close to signing for the McLaren seat. Makes sense to me, McLaren has money, can get more from Benz as MB is partial owner. Pedro's Spanish connection is not really important. McLaren could lose Santander and find another sponsor, likely British, fairly easily. But I wonder about Vodaphone. Although British, it was them agreeing to leave Ferrari if Alonso was signed with McLaren. They wanted a winner if they were going to leave Ferrari for a home team. Possibly they are pacified with Hamilton's performance and are OK for now.
Have you ever seen anything written in Finnish? Kovalainen is easy compared to any nouns they use. Words that make German stuff like Oberrheindampfschiffartsgesellschaftskapitaen look short by comparison.
I put spaces in between those German words to make them more easily pronounced. But for a driver, Kovalaidnen, that's way too much. Especially since he is now confirmed at McLaren. See separate thread.
