The car McQueen owned was s/n 10453, and the car in the movie was 9437. Which one are we talking about? As for color, am I thinking about the yellow Porsche in Bullitt?
Or... am I confused by the new Thomas Crown Affair? (Starring, as I remember, Rene Russo's breasts...)
Yes, he drove a Champagne yellow Porsche 356 C (or SC) cabriolet in Bullitt. The NART spyder in The Thomas Crown Affair was more of a root beer color (sorry I don't know the factory name for the color). Jack Speaking of McQueen, I'm sitting here looking at my Porsche factory poster commemorating his second place at Sebring in 1970. I've had that poster displayed in a place of honor since I acquired it (for free!!) in 1971.
He drove the Porsche when she vomited on the side of the road (after witnessing a crime scene), but, yes, it was her car. At least she had the self control not to hurl inside the Porsche.
I have the Cavallino magazine with the NART spider registry, Thomas Crown Affair - Maroon Dark red, (ill get the exact color name) then his PERSONAL CAR- Dark Blueish Green with a extended tail on the back after he was rear ended in the car. -jt
I forgot to mention my dad was at Le Mans when they were filming the movie, and actually got to meet Steve Mcqueen. Always told me he was a really nice guy who would just talk to you even if he didn't know you. If I remember correctly it was 68-69, they took 2 years of film coverage. What a great movie!! Not a whole lot of words, just pure driving.
