Since its actually been pleasant here as of late (read: not 95 degrees), and I finally had time to finish overhauling the carbs and spent the following afternoon setting them up and dialing them in (I'm quite pleased to report; she pulls like a freight train ;) ), I decided to get the '69 FHC out for a little cruise. Not going to do a whole lot else to it this year since the '65 has just joined the stable, but nevertheless, a couple of pics for posterity...

    Cheers,
    Aaron

Ron's car was so nice, that I decided to get off the pot and get mine fixed up. She's now fully driveable and I drive the heck out of it!

I had that exact same colar car and model for 8 days 15 years ago.. Is that a 4 seater, the one I had was the 2 + 2.

I really wish I would have kept that car and the 59 mec 190sl I got in a trade..

    Very, very cool car!

Not to tread on the Ferrari name, but I recently sold my 1966 E-Type OTS to a local fellow who is now telling everyone how much better the E-Type is compared to his Ferrari Daytona!

I'll be keeping my 1962 E-Type FHC....a very special car to me!

The OP's car looks like the two-seater fixed head coupe (FHC).
The rear side window on the 2+2 model is almost as tall as it is long. One of the easy ways to spot it.

Also, the B pillar on a two-seater FHC is about halfway between the length of the two side windows; and about 2/3 of the way to the back on the 2+2.

Here is a pic of a Series II 2+2.

Both of my XKEs are FHCs (straight two seaters).

I may be forced to add a 2+2 to the stable one day if I want to complete my collection and put a Series III in the stable. Unless, of course, I went for an open car but generally prefer coupes as a rule.

    Cheers,
    Aaron

    Tony,

I could post up a mean picture comparison of thou...but as a proper Jag-U-at driving gentleman, I shall refrain.

    For now.....muhahahaahahaha!

Unfortunately, Stromberg 175 CD2s in the '69. My '65 is going to get the triple DCOE treatment since the engine has been modded for fast road use...

...and yeah, I guess it could be worse than Brian Wilson ;)
