Last night was almost a very bad night, a very, very bad night. Fortunately, it turned out to be only a bad night. Damn, you gotta love Bobby Bowden, but the son-of-gun sure likes to live on the edge. I've learned my lesson. No mo bragging on da Noles. Dale
Troy? Aren't they Division 1-AAA or something? I watched a lot of football yesterday. Texas lost big... hard to put a young QB in a spot like that. How would you like to fill Vince Young's shoes as a Freshman? Notre Dame looked good too... gotta love Charlie Weis.
FSU is overrated this year. And I LOVE Bobby Bowden. I love Doak. But the Noles are being voted way too high for reasons beyond me. Tennessee, too. They beat Cal, but that was predictable, I made a lot of money on that game. USC's overrated as well, mainly because they don't have to play anybody. They will lose against their first real opponent. As always happens, the SEC is far and away the best conference in the land. Auburn, LSU, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia - the only reason an SEC team won't win the national championship is because these teams have to play each other.
DAMN the gators wooped on dat AZZ..... but seriously from all the Sh*t talkin about the Noles and Vols.....they almost got their AZZ handed to them by some small teams, TROY, AFA.... SEC by far is the best division out there. All I wish for this season is BCS gets F**ked.....I know that 3 teams will not go undefeated, cause those undefeated teams will eventually run into each other, but if one team goes undefeated and the rest with one loss, they will have to change to a playoff system.
Yep yep yep. Glad to see Dr Who won't be making a big fuss anymore, lol. Let's see if DubaiVol follows the same. :cough: Air Force :cough: Miami and FSU aren't that good this year imo.
Though beating UCF is not a real accomplishment, it's always nice to have a morale booster like that early in the season before you start to play the bigger names in colllege football. I think we are going to do really well this year. It was great to see the Basketball team get their rings yesterday in the swamp before the game started. And we moved up in the academic rankings again this year in US News and World Report so we have a lot to celebrate right now. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Notre Dame played awesome yesterday, it was 41-3 until we put our secondary teams out there and only then were they able to score 2 tds. Then again it was only against #19. I'm worried about Ohio State especially after that huge win, I didn't expect them to beat Texas by so much. He is a young qb though and he did well for a freshman.
I couldn't even imagine the pressure that kids feeling. But I think overall for being a starting QB that's a freshman he didn't do all that bad. I think he'll end up progressing as the season and years roll on. But I thought Selvin played a good game. He's lost weight, and seemed more focused that last season. As for FSU, I grew up a fan since my aunt and uncle live in Tallahassee.
Who is USC's first real opponent ? Troy State is no slouch, neither is Central Florida, and also, is it South Florida ? I hope West Virginia goes undefeated, because after the BCS game, they will have one loss, no matter who they play. On a side note, Gotta love University of Colorado: first they get beat by a division I-aa school, then they get beat by an instate rival, and to top that off, the division I-aa school that beat them in week one gets beat this weekend by basically an NAIA SMALL college from the panhandle of Nebraska.
Univ of Central FL is in Orlando. Univ of South Florida is in Tampa. Different schools, but both public. UCF went to their first bowl game last year in Hawaii, but they lost.
