I heard yesterday that the Mead track is closing down. I guess with the new track in Utah, Larry Miller doesn't see any need to keep it open.

    More bad news for Colorado.

How many people are planned so far? Meaning for us or the park? For us, it will be open so the Colorado gang will travel, anyone is welcome to join us and run. Consider this an open track event- similiar to what we have done at PPIR in the past.

And yes it is my birthday!! Thank you :)

An other track beeing shut down!! what's going on? Today, I heard that the " futur" Denver track got delayed by 90 days,,,that means no asphalt late 06...Maybe I should build my own around the ranch ? By the time they have something done, I will be in a retirement home.
Vegas in April, SLC in June, let's go !!!
Leslie, have a Bon Anniversaire from all of us.This means, for you morrons : happy birthday.

Look out Leslie, I think Roland is speaking the language of love again.

Delayed by 90 days.... they could still lay asphalt by late 06. just depends on the cause of the delay.

This sucks, unlike PPIR, Mead was kind of close to my house. Which tracks are left in-state? I know of Second Creek raceway and thats about it.

    Happy Birthday Leslie!!

Kinda gravely but what about the Golden State Patrol track. CECA normally sells out at that event every year.

I am also looking at doing a private event for exotics at LHM Motorsports Park. (That will spare people from fighting with some of the lesser drivers that will no doubt be honing thier driving in the early going here in Utah.) I hope to have some more details in the coming months.

If there are any of you in Colorado that would be willing to lend some expertise it would be greatly appreciated.

Is the Pueblo date just one track day, or 2+?

    Thanks :)

How will limiting an event to exotic cars weed out "lesser drivers?"

    I will likely go.

I will just drive to Utah and back in my car, as I don't own a trailer.

Anyone have extra space in their trailer for 4 track wheels/tires? I guess I could just drive to Utah on my Kumhos, but I'd rather save the wear and drive down on my street tires if possible.

With 2nd Creek, PPIR, and Mead gone, that leaves Pueblo, La Junta, the Colorado State Patrol track, and the track at Aspen.

Of these, I've only ever driven at Pueblo. Pueblo was (I thought) had the best track lay-out in Colorado even before we lost PPIR, 2nd Creek and Mead. The downside of Pueblo is some unfriendly run-out zones coupled with some pretty high speed corners. The track surface at Pueblo is very grippy, but it also eats tires.

I've never driven LaJunta, but folks who have say that it has a high-speed sweeper that takes a fair amount of courage to drive fast on.

Don't know a thing about the CSP and Aspen tracks.

Here is a web link with Colorado track information that might be interesting to you:

Hi, Leslie and our gang could be the solution to organize your event. We do have a good track record these past 7 years and I bet that we could get that going for you.Remember that we do have one in SLC June 4th.

Perhaps my choice of words was not the best. The basic idea is that exotic car owners have more to lose than people in "economy class" cars in the case that something happens. I know that there are a fair number of people here in Utah that won't track their car if the event is open to the "economy class" cars.

There have been quite a few requests for special events that limit the number and types of cars that are on the track at any given time. I am working at helping fill this need.

I hope that this is a little more clear as to what my intentions are. I have never been great a explaining myself in writing.

I talked about this with my wife, and she said we could host some sort of "social" at our house that Saturday night, as we live only a few minutes from the track. If anybody is interested let me know, and we can sort out the details.

If anybody was staying at a local hotel, and was worried about their car outside, and would need/want a place to store their car overnight (as I understand the track does not have the same sort of garage that PPIR has), we have @ a dozen spaces left in the garage, and would be willing to offer a safe place to park it. PM me if interested.

    Looking forward to it :)
