I thought that the group here might be looking forward to this year's show. The following is the inside scoop on what is planned for 2009. Not mentioned below is the Supercar display which will have various Lamborghini, Bugatti, Porsche, Spyker, Lotus, Morgan, Ford GT, P&M Corvette, ZR1, and of course, Ferrari!

Please also notice that if your car club will be gathering 10 or more people together, you can get special parking and a discount rate on tickets. If you need help getting in touch with the show to arrange your parking, PM me and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

The 2009 Concours d'Elegance will be held on August 2 in Rochester MI. It will be an exciting show this year with the "Best of Detroit" as the central theme and honored mark. Tickets can be pre-purchased on-line this year as well. The website is: www.mbhconcours.org

    2009 Features:
1954 Fiat 8V Supersonic - a $1mm Fiat, that was the envy of every designer - many Detroit designers bought this car new to study it. It is quite rare, and the most correct and proper one in existence.

1934 Alfa 8c2300 - It has never been in this country before. It is largely original, and was owned by the foremost authority on Alfa's. It was uniquely rebodied during the period to the new owners whims.

1911 Hupp - original car, now owned by the Crawford Museum - It is a totally original 1911 Hupmobile that left Detroit on November 3, 1910 and drove 48,600 miles around the world. This first car ever to accomplish this was given to us by Hupmobile in 1946 by Ralph Geddes, Hupp President. We have complete documentation of its journey including diaries, press releases and photographs. James Ward wrote the book “Three Men in a Hupp” about this incredible journey.

6 cars coming from the Gilmore Museum to highlight their collection - Mercer, Tucker, 1908 Packard, Ford Woody Wagon, and a Duesenberg.

Early Years of Drag Racing - 12 cars from the 1960's explosion of Drag Racing. The famous "Dyno Don Nicholson" Comet that won more races. Don was one of the early pioneers and his cars were some of the first to get factory sponsorship. We'll have 4 early "Gassers" 1933 -1937 Willys - including a one driven by Barbara Hamilton - she'll be there - the first women to get an NHRA license to drive a "supercharged" car. The 1967 Super Mustang - special project from Ford Motor and driven by Connie Kalitta and Tom McEwen.

Fins and Chrome: the Convertibles of 1959 - a significant year in auto design, we'll have 14 models all from 1959 and all convertibles. Some of the best in the country will be at the show.

Packard V-12's - we'll have 18 of these great cars, including some of the rarest and highly prized ones.

Swoopy Coupes - from the 30s and 40's....

Rolls Royce Phantom's - 13 of these as well. They were made from the late 20's until the 60's - different series, and we'll have representatives from each series.

The Quadracycle from the Henry Ford Museum

    80 cars highlighting "The Best of Detroit".....cars from the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's.

American Classics - Brass and Horseless Carriage....the cars that Meadow Brook is known for.

    15+ Motorcycles - British Twins....

Duesenbergs, Cords, European Luxury Cars ( Bugatti, Isotta, Hispano, and Talbot), World Class Ferrari's, Morgans and other British Sports Cars, and lots lots more.

It's always nice to hear from someone on the inside that is willing to divulge a bit more info on the cars that will be there. Thanks! I plan on making it my 10th of the past 12 shows.

Last year was my first time going and I had an absolute blast. The most amazing part is seaching the parking-lots for exotics. Looking forward to this year.

It is not 100% confirmed yet, but I believe that we might have a Koenigesegg CCX in the supercar display this year.

Guys, I'll miss Meadowbrook, again this year, as my declining health has placed me in a nursing home and a wheelchair. The cars really interest me this year, as they have in past years!

I wish to ask Isaac, and anyone else who will, to post their great pics of the cars, and the color, from the event, here in this section. I will at least get to see something of this event.
    Thank you.

    Ciao...Paolo

I'm sure Issac and others will get some amazing pictures. I would be more than happy to send or post my shots from this year for you. I'm truly sorry to hear about your health. I pray that you get better soon and are able to make it to another Meadow Brook soon. Any cars in particular that you are interested in Paolo?

I will not have better pics than Isaac, but I will probably have more. My camcorder/camera has a 60gb hdd. I'm not good enough to know a good shot from a bad one, so I compensate by taking a pic of everything. My only limiting factor is battery life but I can charge the camera in my car if I must.

I will 'organize' a group of 10 to get tickets for $20. Let me know if you plan to go and need a ticket. I will keep a list. If we find more than 50 peopleto attend, tickets are only $18.

Also, if you are entering you car(s) and have an extra ticket, please post that here as well.

    Guys,

I have been in the hospital again for a few days and away from a computer. I see my PM's are full and useless as I could only reply to 2 PM's., before it wouldn't accept more for sending.

Thank you for all the kind offers to help me in seeing the event as well as pictures and videos.

I would be glad to meet with you Isaac, agz and Chris too! Anyone else would be WELCOME, to visit me after the Meadowbrook event, to share their pics and recollections of it. Jim Walker and his wife Molly, drove up in the 1970 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2, in it's glorious Giallo-Yellow color, to visit me last year after his trip to Villa D'Este and Toronto, for the FCA national meet. He and Molly brought me a nice poster of the Toronto Meet, which I framed and hung on my wall.

Napolis, I know you will be here again for the Concours, and would love to be there and meet you and this fine group of friends, as you have represented yourselves here. But I almost died 3 weeks ago, and don't have the strength to travel and spend a rigorous day, that I would need to see this years Meadowbrook.

    THANKS A MILLION GUYS--REALLY!!!

Contact me at [email protected], or use this Fchat forum, to email me.

    Ciao...Paolo
