Hi, I need a Ferrari mechanic in Sydney to be my best friend. Any one know any cheap, good ones with a sense of humour, innate honesty and knowledge of the 3.2 engine?
Sort of mutually exclusive I know that FMS ( the dealer ) is charging labour on older "pre 2003" Ferrari's at $110 per hour, so they are very competetive with the independants. M
Two people l would recommend.. Road and Track in Silverwater (l haven't used them personally but have heard many good things about them) Road and Track | Car Repair Sydney, Lamborghini car services Cavallino motorsports in Brookvale (again l've never used them but my brother brings his Maserati there and they have a good reputation) Cavallino Motorsports :: About Cavallino Motorsports Andrea Motori in Atarmon are supposed to be good but lm not too sure if they deal much with older Ferrari's.
Yeah Road and Track are really good. They ruined a 355 engine and the list goes on so if anyone is looking for a good independent to wreck their Ferrari Road and Track is the place to go.
Ok maybe not Road and Track..like I said I've never used them,I work on my own car so have never needed to.. There are people I know that wouldn't let Sal work on their lawnmowers, but I haven't had any personal dealings with him either.. Bottom line is that not everyone will be happy with one particular mechanic or another..
Well I'll be buggered....... I am absolutely thrilled with the work Road and Track have done on my 328. I actually took it for a spin yesterday morning and even thought I'd drop them a line thanking them as the car went as good as it ever has in my 6 year ownership. To hear that Aussie 355 has had a bad experience is very disappointing as it is the first negative I have heard. Some guys swear by Sal others would let him put petrol in their cars. I am totally convinced now that no one mechanic/workshop is without criticism. As the old cliché goes, you can't satisfy all of the people all of the time but as an owner of a 3.2 engined car R and T are still my pick. The guys that work on the car also own 328's/Mondials so believe me they know what goes on. Good Luck...... Bob.
And what makes you think Road and Track wouldn't do that?? Any mechanic and/or delaer could do it. As long as your car is fixed properly the first time is the main thing.
No...the main thing is that if they don't fix it properly the first time (things happen) that they apologise and fix it properly the next time, and immediately. The test of a good mechanic is what they do when things go wrong....and they do.
Maybe..... But if you look at the brand anyone would HOPE that they could get it right the first time especially simple things. Now if we are talking rebuilds etc then yes agree if they make a mistake and apologise then fix all good. But when they 'dance' around as is the case with the so called experts at Road and Track then you have to move on and hope no body ever takes a car there for a rebuild or else the horror stories begin!!
No...I'm actually talking about minor things. IME, the more major the things being fixed, the less the issues afterwards. I might add that on the occasions I've been to the dealer, they almost never got it right first time....even the most simple things. but they bend over backwards to rectify afterwards, though. Nice theory that given the brand you'd hope they get it right, but sadly not the case. There was this time my car had an oil leak.....but I think everyone knows the story
I've been using the services of Road and Track at Silverwater for the past two years. Their service is first class and their prices are very competitive. Major or minor issues with my 328 and they fix it perfectly - first time, every time.
