Finally went through all the data and here is how it stacked up for the Italian cars:

    2004 360 Spider sold for $83,500 F1 Black/Tan
1988 Testa Rosa sold for $39,000 Red/Tan = steal of the auction
    1999 355 Spider sold for $63,000 Red/Tan 12K miles
    2001 360 Spider sold for $76,000 Silver/Black
    1993 512TR sold for $105,000 Red/Tan 9.8K miles = seller did well, I think
    2006 Gallardo sold for $115,000 Silver/Black 3.5K miles 6-speed manual car
2002 360 Spider NOT SOLD at $75,000 F1 Silver/Black = probably should have taken the money
    2003 360 Spider sold for $80,000 F1 Gray Metallic/Black 10K miles
    2007 430 NOT SOLD at $115,000 F1 Black/Tan = probably wise choice by seller
    2003 360 sold for $77,000 F1 Metallic Blue/Black 14K miles
    2006 Mucielago sold for $155,000 ETrans Yellow/Black
1998 Diablo SV sold for $120,000 Rubino/White 7K miles supercharged collectable

Not too bad for a show that had the usual several hundred Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, etc.

I've never been, nor tried to purchase a car at auction. However, I have done so with machine tools. The energy and the desire to win makes most spend more than they want or should. It takes a cool and calm person to not be emotionally attached and make good choices.
