Say someone had crushed their ankle a couple of years ago and are now having moderate pain in the foot {aches quite bad at times} with a few layers of skin peeling off of the bottom of their toes, could this all be connected? Say from the damage two years ago causing poor circulation? Also now that it's winter that foot can't stand the cold at all when before cold was never a concern.

My guess is the peeling feet is more of fungal thing. Try an antifungal creme and see if it goes away. The cold thing is a result of the injury.

Is the flaky skin on both feet, or just the foot that was injured?

Thanks for the replies guys. The skin isn't flaky, it's like {sorry for the visual} someone is peeling an orange. Under my big toe, right in the middle of the "meaty" part, 5 dime sized pieces were coming off, only on the foot that was damaged. Also it's multiple layers of skin, so much so that it looks like plastic, it's that thick. And the smaller the toe, the less skin that's coming off. I have an appointment in 6 days with a doctor, I'm just not knowledgeable about this sort of thing.
