Has anyone been to this restaurant? My wife and I are going to Chicago for our anniversary and we're thinking about going there for dinner and a show. I notice that it is about $51.00 per person but I can't find anything pertaining to a menu.

    Anyone think it's worth it?

If it's anything like the one in Anaheim then, prepare to eat with your hands. That's right, with your hands. When I was there is was turkey legs, rolls, vegies. The menu is listed before you walk in so there is no surprise. Don't worry, at the end, they give you a damp towel to wipe ye hands.

It's a good show, actors dressed up in the gear battle it out in the arena, jousting show too. If that era is your forte, then it's worth the experience.

It's cool enough to see once, for sure. They serve you the same dish as everyone else as I recall. A bunch of servers just converge on the audience with plates of food, like you are at a convention. It's been 12 years since I was at the one near Clearwater, Fl., but we were there with a big group, so it was fun.

If you like wrestling, etc. you might have a good time. Some of the horse stunts were neat, but the meal is bleh, the acting is about WWE quality (perhaps less - it seems many of these guys would WANT to be wrestlers).

    I wouldn't bother.

the meal is an $8 chicken meal that is prepared to the quality of a typical 'all you can eat' type restaraunt. Clearly you are paying for the show and not the food.

Good show if you have kids, but I wouldn't take my wife there for a night out.

so far it looks like a 2.5 for "Nay" and a 1.5 for "Yea." (RacerX isn't too convincing... LOL) I'm thinking a hundred bucks for $20.00 worth of food and a show worth whatever - not sure now... Guess I oughta go to the Chicago forum and find out where we can find an interesting place to eat.

I love it! My dad and I have been going to the one in Orlando once a year for about the past decade or so. The show is cool. The horse stunts are very neat and look pretty damned difficult.

I'm no gourmet. I like the food. I've never been dissapointed in the menu. At ours you get:

    Vegetable Soup
    Tastey Seasoned Potatoe
    Rib
    Half of a Chicken
    Apple Pastrey

All the Pepsi and Beer you can drink!

I would totally go if I were you. Ours also has a fully functional village of the period that you can walk through for free and see how they made armour, cloth and such things back then. We also pay an extra five dollars per person to get the VIP treatment. The best thing about that is you get prime seating. We always sit in the middle of the arena in the very first row. It's worth it.

    SO NOT WORTH IT!

All they do is feed you a nuked chicken and stick you on some bleachers to watch a joust and dressage show. They will lead you past several photographers and gift areas to drain your pocket as much as possible. The only thing I got out of it was this strong conviction to ward you off!

During an anniversary trip? No. Especially if you're in Chicago. So much better to do.

Man, there are many EXCELLENT restaurants in Chicago. Don't go to some hokey-ass place like Medieval Times for your anniversary. If you're that curious about it, go some other time, or just rent "Cable Guy".

Been to about 4 shows in Dallas since I was a kid. It was neat and entertaining...the first time. I went to the other ones with different people and not worth the money after the first time.

The food wasnt good, I didnt enjoy it, the show is entertaining and like someone said, the money is mostly for the show.

If you go to Chicago, I recomend go see "Stomp", just got back and loved Chicago.

If anybody wants a slightly more authentic medieval night out, hop on a plane and come to England (OK North Wales to be a accurate) Ruthin Castle do a fantastic Medieval banquet without all the cheesy Americanised nonsense set in a Castle rather than a plastic Disney copy and with plenty of decent food and drink including proper beer :) there are even copies of medieval knives, forks and spoons ;)

The only reason to go it if you have kids - don't bother if it's you and your wife.
I'd recomend the 95th in the John Hancock center. Sensational views of the city right on Michigan avenue and good food. You do pay a bit for the view, but get a reservation an hour before sunset and you and your wife will have a memorable anniversery dinner. Then you can stroll down Michigan or hop a taxi to Navy pier.

Yeah. If you're coming to Chicago for your anniversary, there are much better ways to spend $100 on dinner. Also, the Times is about 30-45 minutes outside the city.

We found a castle in Ireland that provided very similar to your description Andrew - it was terrific as was the nearby pub and all the Guiness. Best dinner we ever had by far has to be St. Gertrude's in Copenhagen - the old monstery, underground lit by candles - it was like 300 USD but definitely worth every bit. A Russian restaurant in Helsinki is second.

The Medieval Times in Dallas seems to always have a crowd - have never been there even when we lived in North Dallas.
