    Had to look that up!

Per the Mayo Clinic... Plant-based foods, such as whole grains, vegetables, legumes, fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices, are the foundation of the diet. Olive oil is the main source of added fat.

Will you be doing fish? Poultry? On the whole grains side - pasta? Brown rice?

Fyi legumes is nothing mysterious, it is the French word for vegetables.

I have been living with this what you call Mediterranean diet all my life and having tried US, English,German kitchen patterns I definitely vote for French Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, no contest in terms of -1 taste, culinary pleasure, -2 health, compare obesity ratios in group one and two.

    Oh and wine, never beer.
